At a time when LGBTQIA+ rights are under very real threat this piece feels like hope. I want to take a moment to tell you to buy a ticket to Plue before it sells out. This show is so much more than just a big slay of a costume in trans colours. It has been a huge part of my life for the best part of a year and Iβm proud of what we have created. It now feels quite brave to perform something that so deeply encompasses what it feels like to exist as a queer and trans person.
When Iβm performing Plue I often think about:
octopus tentacles
teenagehood
what if I was a bit taller?
first loves
lost loves
becoming creature
tom of Finland
looking in the mirror
hating my hair
seaweed
learning to flirt
strength in softness
fungus
TRANScending gender
the birds in the trees
