Happy 303 day! Here’s a Roland TB-303 and TR-808 we bought, refurbished and sold a while back. A young @jaywires (who you should follow) found his first 303 back in the day at a mom and pop music shop in the middle of nowhere, where it had been sitting collecting dust since the 80s. He asked “how much?” and they said “$35”. And the rest is history. The funny thing is, they probably thought they’d finally found a sucker since the 303 was a poor excuse for a replacement for your bands bassist, which was its intended purpose. It wasn’t til acid became popular that it went from unsellable junk to vintage synth classic. Tell us about your great 303 deals in the comments. Here’s the intro to a song I wrote recently. It’s just a demo, but what do you think? Anyone who says it’s AI will get a swift kick to the nads - 2 randoms recently said my song meaningless was AI. I make all my own music. My inspiration comes from emotions that turn into words that turn into music. Despite me using synths and pitch correction on my voice, my music comes 100% from my human heart. I even dial up my sounds from scratch, like a GD synth wizard. If I was using AI, I’d pick a much better voice to sing my songs. If I lacked inspiration, I wouldn’t write songs. I’d rather have no ideas than ask my computer to write songs for me. And really, I don’t like writing songs. If I’m locked away in my studio writing, there’s usually something wrong.
