When @thejazdhami spoke about losing his brother on @thedadprojecthq podcast, I really felt it. Deep, deep down inside me.
It made me think about my own brother @jaysean
See, he’s my best friend.
I know, without question, that my brother loves me deeply. Not only because he says it all the time. Because I’ve seen it in action. In how he shows up. In how he protects. In how he cares.
People have asked me over the years what it’s like having a brother who’s achieved so much.
The truth?
I’ve never once wished for anything different. His wins feel like my wins. His happiness matters to me.
That’s my brother.
Hearing @thejazdhami speak made me realise something. Some men know exactly how much their brother means to them. They just never say it.
So maybe this is your reminder.
Tell your brother you love him while you can.
You see a brother’s love is a rare thing. And if you have the real kind, don’t treat it like it’s guaranteed.

New song “Hold Onto Me” with @opentilll8 is out now! Trying every marketing tactic except subtlety. The song has depth, the marketing campaign sadly doesn’t. Go stream it now! 😜👊🏽🔥
I really don’t know where they come up with all this stuff all on their own 🤷🏽♂️😏 def more professional than me, I messed up the title of my own song. It’s called “Hold onto me” not “hold hold on holding onto you”. 🙄😆 anyway as my kids so beautifully and innocently expressed their genuine non-forced love for my song, go stream it now. It’s out everywhere.😜🙌🏽 @opentilll8 killed this one bro. 🔥

Being on stage and performing is my favourite thing. I’ve been blessed to travel this world so many times over, over 2 decades- different cities, different cultures, different crowds. No matter where I am in the world, that feeling of hearing thousands of voices singing back every word of my songs..and seeing you all having so much fun -nothing compares to that connection. I am truly grateful to you all, and I love sharing this journey with you.
tell me… where in the world should we go next? 🌍👇

It was an honour to attend and be a part of a beautiful evening that celebrated strength, resilience and life at the @vermafoundation NYC Capwalk. They make real hair capwigs for patients undergoing cancer treatment and provide a piece of identify and hope in a time that is so difficult.Congrats to @natasha_verma and her entire team for the good work they’re doing! 🙌🏽❤️
Our dream for the BAIT soundtrack was making something never done before. To smash together different genres and cultural influences, just like the show did. We reached out to our favourite artists from UK MC’s, to West coast US Bhangra acts to Pakistani & Indian rappers. From legendary innovators like Jay Sean, to those crossing musical borders today Talwiinder, Young Stunners, Raf Sappera, & Kr$na. From London heroes CASISDEAD, Shabba D, & AJ Tracey, to global soul divas like Arooj Aftab, Natasha Noorani, & Jorja Smith, to the crazy new wave sound of Twins, UPPAL, Manni Dee, Nayana IZ, Billy Khan, and Anish Kumar. Nothing communicates a culture more than its music, so this is us, right now: from UK grime & garage, Bhangra, cinematic soul, house, drum’n’bass, to 80s synth. This is our way of thanking you for the support you gave the show, and this our love letter to where we are from: Birmingham, Bay Area, and Bombay. There’s no place like home…So we have to build it.
Shout out all the artists involved who made this so special:
@JaySean, @Talwiinder, @youngstunnersofficial, @rafsaperra, @realkrsna, @CASISDEAD, @shabbadan, @ajtracey, @aroojaftab, @jorjasmith_, @waitareyoutwins, @uppal39_ @ManniDeeUK, @nayanaiz, @billykhanofficial, @anishkumaruk, @anikkhan_, @ennyintegrity, @natashanoorani, @abdullah.s.siddiqui, @amiramor, Sifr, NDS, @Veyahofficial, Taj Aukakh, Sukh Knight, @abdullahmaharvi, @iam_adp, @1ezrah, @talhahanjum, @talhahyunus, Origin Unknown and @famm.uk

Bait (Music From & Inspired by The Original Series) is out now

In the semi-autobiographical, satirical, high-stakes Prime Video series ‘Bait,’ we encounter Shah Latif, portrayed by (and closely mirroring the real life of) actor, artist and writer Riz Ahmed (@rizahmed), as he is called in to audition for the role of James Bond.
Ahmed — who serves as the series lead, showrunner, and writer on the first episode of its six-part debut season — also executive produced the soundtrack alongside Zubin Irani, and was clear from the outset that it needed to reflect the desi world of ‘Bait.’
From several desi diaspora artists like DJ-producer Anish Kumar (@anishkumaruk), Jay Sean (@jaysean), Anik Khan (@anikkhan_), Raf-Saperra (@rafsaperra), Arooj Aftab (@aroojaftab) and Talwiinder (@talwiinder) creating songs as well as needle drops like “DhinDhinDha” (Cristiano Fry Remix) by BombayMami (@bombaymami), “Masala” by TroyBoi (@troyboi) and Amrit Maan (@amritmaan106), “Taka” by Ahadadream, Priya Ragu (@priyaraguofficial) and Skrillex (@skrillex), Bait is bursting with nostalgia-laden tunes, futuristic pop and hip-hop bops. Positioned as a cultural crossroads for South Asian artists across genres and regions, Indian artists like New Delhi rap star KR$NA (@realkrsna) share space with the likes of Pakistani rap act Young Stunners (@youngstunnersofficial), pop maverick Natasha Noorani (@natashanoorani), plus U.K. acts like AJ Tracey (@ajtracey), Manni Dee (@mannideeuk), MC Shabba D (@shabbadan), CASISDEAD (@casisdead) and more.

[Bait, Riz Ahmed, Jay Sean, Jorja Smith, Talwiinder, KR$NA, Anish Kumar, Skrillex, Bombay Mami, Young Stunners, Rolling Stone India]
