Location: Holkerweg, Amersfoort, the Netherlands
It was quite challenging because I was not able to use any spraypaint and had to do all of it with a brush and a roller.
To be honest I am pretty proud how it turned out.

Twee getroffen jongeren hadden @sharon_dijksma , de burgemeester van Utrecht gevraagd voor een muurschildering om zo te zorgen dat hun verhaal niet vergeten word.

De muurschildering bestaat uit twee delen: het deel dat je nu kunt zien en het deel dat ik zal afmaken op het moment dat de jongeren fatsoenlijk zijn gecompenseerd en behandeld.
Deze muurschildering heb ik samen met jongeren die getroffen zijn door de toeslagenaffaire ontworpen en staat symbool voor hun herstel en hoop.
Op de afbeelding zie je bloemen en een vlinder. Elk element heeft iets eigenaardigs (de vlinder mist bijvoorbeeld een stukje vleugel, een bloem heeft plotseling stekels, enzovoort). Dit symboliseert het verhaal van de jongeren.
We hadden ook ontwerpen die donkerder van aard waren, maar ik moet er rekening mee houden dat een muurschildering de openbare ruimte sterk beΓ―nvloedt. Nu kunnen mensen er mooie bloemen in zien, maar degenen die echt kijken, zien het verhaal.
Hoe lang het nog duurt voordat ik de schildering kan afmaken, hangt volledig af van de afhandeling door alle betrokken partijen die zich met de situatie van de jongeren bezighouden.
Je kunt de schildering vinden op de Taagdreef/Ebrodreef in Utrecht Overvecht (vlak bij het voormalige huis van een van de jongeren).

Kunstenaar @janisdeman maakt in Utrecht bijzondere muurschilderingen. Maar dit keer heeft zijn enorme ontwerp een belangrijk doel: laten zien dat het verhaal van de gedupeerde jongeren van de toeslagenaffaire niet vergeten wordt. 'Ik maak het af als de jongeren fatsoenlijk gecompenseerd zijn,' vertelt hij aan @eenvandaag. Verslaggever Joris Kreugel nam een kijkje toen de kunstenaar bezig was.
