Two of the most influential Dutch musicians are joining forces in this spectacular duo. Fusing hip hop, jazz and electronics they play the game of tension and release like no other. Influenced by Squarepusher, Aphex Twin and music label Brainfeeder, their gritty music sounds like a sneak peak into the next chapter of live music. Chopped up melodies, broken beats and on top of it all: everything is improvised. This is the sound of the Dutch underground. This is the sound of the future! Next week Friday, Jamie Peet will present his REFLEX assignment. In REFLEX, a series by BIMHUIS Productions, we invite musicians to reflect on the world and society.
Especially for this assignment, Jamie Peet has formed a new band with saxophonist Ben van Gelder, bassist Pat Cleaver and renowned American vibraphonist Joel Ross. We had a chat with the new wave drummer during rehearsals.
