“Car 27” follows Ruby as she steps into the world of 1200 Juniors, small, stripped-back race cars designed to teach young drivers the craft of speedway. Affordable, simple, and rule-bound, these cars , often Datsun Sunnys , keep the focus on skill and driving. Set in Central Victoria, Australia, the film captures Ruby’s first laps, the nervous energy, the roar of the track, and the close community around the sport, showing what it’s like to take your first steps into racing.
