I wrote this song inspired by a paradox: that the world is a beautiful and terrifying place, sometimes in the very same moment. It’s not just in times of turmoil and strife where I fall into a feeling of hopelessness about whether the work I do has a vital purpose for the world. I hear so many of you expressing trepidation about sharing your creative projects in light of this disaster. I too, share your feelings, but there’s a mantra I have developed over the years that I try to lean into whenever the inertia of these thoughts become overwhelming. I hope in sharing it, you too can find some strength to carry on. I am inspired by the myriad ways the music community has gotten to work in supporting our #losangeles community. The need for great art continues unabated.
