Do you know what this built in saturation tool in @avid.protools is? Heat is a version of @crangesongltd software phoenix and RA built into the pro tools mixer! That’s like $1k worth of software built into the mixer!

It is really amazing! It does require you to use proper gain structure though, just like working with analog gear or else you will end up over distorting things.

I don’t use it on everything but when it works it adds a great edge ITB mixes.

Btw if your budget allows get the actual Cranesong plug-ins as they are unbeatable and just make everything sound better!

I’m a huge fan of @rickrubin but I feel like his concept of greatness as being the driving force behind artistic endeavours is really just the wrong way of thinking about it.

So pleased to finally have Jack Prest as an artist on the label. A day-one collaborator and integral part of our aural DNA; the final set of ears. Jack has mixed or mastered almost every release we’ve ever put out.

“Dance of The Poogs” was the track that sparked this compilation. It landed in my inbox and I instantly knew it would be the perfect song to build a comp around. Naturally, Jack also mixed several other tracks on the record and mastered the entire album.
This is, in many ways, a long-overdue love letter to Jack. His new album drops in a few weeks!

Staying humble is not only just a good way to be in general it’s also a great way to open yourself up to other people’s knowledge and grow as an artist and professional!

So I had a great time and good success posting my videos in the first half of the year and have also had a great time and good success not posting videos for the last couple of months. Social media is a tool use it or don’t but don’t stress yourself out or worry about it!
