One of my favorite photos of all time by the incredible @christophe_serrano_wedding. Set on the grounds of @chateaudetourreau, this intimate wedding dinner was absolute magic in every way.

Alt Caption: Vogue and Over the Moon and everyone else turned this down and it made me sad not because of that, but because I even submitted it in the first place. I get it, that's what we're "supposed" to do to promote ourselves but that's just not how I roll, complete opposite actually. This was someone's wedding. Their celebration. Their vows. Not mine, not my team's (though our blood sweat and tears went into it and man it was one of the best week's we've ever had together); and it's certainly not some publication's "property" to own and post about for others to "like" and share. This online / social media world drives me insane but I know, this old lady needs to keep up. But until I decide to give in and do that, I'll just give you some little snippets here and there of the joy we've been lucky enough to experience. We love this job but even more, we love our people, our clients, our vendor family, our crew. To demean them to anything less is against the very foundation that has built this company in the first place. Honoring discretion, living that NDA life, quiet on social media unless I take you on an unsolicited kitchen cooking ride, and protecting the sacred moments of our clients works just fine for me.

Happy 2025, everyone. Your salty gal is still here for ya, don't worry ❤️.

This memory popped back in my mind today while talking with a former colleague and forever friend. Just a moment casually chatting with @wguidara @bcanlis and the rest of the room of kindred spirit magic makers at @unreasonablehospitality summit last May in Nashville. I've said it to anyone who's asked and anyone who hasn't, but it was truly the most incredible experience I've had in a long time. 1.5 days of the most insightful content, nuggets for days, incredible people and absolute - looking for a synonym here but falling short - magic.

We've always done things differently over here and against the grain in this showy industry. But to be in a room of like-minded people from all walks of life with one common thread - hospitality - helped reassure me that while our methods aren't for the masses, we're on the right track.

Thank you Will and team for everything. Hope you enjoyed the pickles. 🥒🤍

This photo is my dad, uncles, and godfather in front of our family hardware store, @pagehardware, around 1963. It was the store’s yearly holiday ad in the town newspaper, the “IG post” of its time. Things were simpler then; less performative, more intentional.

This felt like the right context for what’s been on my mind. So here it is, my unsolicited and unfiltered 2026 In and Out list, from your favorite salty nonna.

OUT

1. Designing for the gram, not the guests.
Showcasing spend is not quiet luxury. Quiet luxury is warmth, care, and intention without a megaphone.

2. Same-day edits for real-time posting.
The best experiences don’t need to be broadcast to be remembered. While it serves the industry, it rarely serves the client and often diminishes the magic of being in the room. Quick turnaround also comes at a cost, and clients deserve to know when it’s coming out of their wallet.

3. *Trigger Warning* Putting people on stage who lack peer credibility.
Behind the scenes, we know who misses deadlines, mishandles budgets, and burns vendor relationships. Popularity is not proof of proficiency and shouldn’t qualify someone to be handed a mic.

4. Going over budget.
Short of scope changes, there’s no excuse. Planners are designers and financial stewards. Spend should serve the guest experience, not optics.

IN

1. Experiential design.
Design goes beyond aesthetics. Transportation, temperature control, communication, and flow are the real foundation of a great event.

2. Playing big while staying small.
Own who you are. Stand up straight. Bring your swagger out of hiding. The right people will find you.

3. Simplicity.
Dinner party energy. Good music. Good lighting. Good people. Clear communication. Simplicity is a skill. Hone it.

4. Hospitality in action.
Hospitality is not a trend. Hospitality is about quiet, intentional actions that make people feel seen and cared for. If you’re doing it for the gold star or accolades, you’ve missed the point.

Nostalgia doesn’t only look backward. It’s also something you build in real time.
Not for the gram, for real life.

A day that began in the woods and ended around a table full of good food,
with our friends — Alfredo at the stove and Fadi on the guitar.
The rest was brought by the wine, the laughter, and that feeling of lightness
that only comes when you’re in the right place, with the right people.

Weddings, retreats, friend trip, holiday. Not a tourist in sight. At Villa Yeppa you arrive as a strangers and leave as a family. Absolute magic.

had long conversations about the wedding world, events, sharing vs. keeping moments sacred and all the things this past week with an incredible group of creatives - planners, designers, stationers, hospitality curators, magic makers from across the globe but with one common language of love...

I know my IG is quiet on events but louder on life and that's ok.

we don't design and plan and produce events for immediate public consumption. we don't push our coverage teams for immediate turnaround so we can post. these are sacred and special and quiet moments of celebration and most importantly, no matter how absolutely stunning they may be -these moments are not ours to shout. they belong to our clients and their guests and their loved ones who are living and experiencing them. these moments are a culmination of hard work and love and good vibes and energy and I feel so thankful to be an ambassador of holding them near and dear even if we can't show the magic we created.

if you ever feel this same pull, this same sentimentality; trust it. the world still pauses for what’s real, and being a guardian of that stillness is a rare privilege. our clients trust us for this, and that in itself is an honor.

We live in a corner of the world that never stops surprising us.
The sea at dawn reminds us of it, the lighthouse in the evening fog, the fishermen’s hands that can read the wind. Rimini is a weave of voices, accents, and small gestures that become habit.

You fall in love with this place slowly, the way you do with things that are real: it lingers in the salty air after the rain, in October days pretending to be summer, in the silence that smells of the sea.
These past days, it’s been an honor and a joy to show this land to a group of girls visiting from America — they wandered through Santarcangelo, breathed in Cesenatico, and saw the sea at its most beautiful time: in autumn.

This is home. And every time you return — even just in your thoughts — you recognize it instantly.

We had a mini Sister Act II "teacher says take off your robes" moment a few hours before this Super Bowl shindig... hemming and hawing about whether to remove the panels on the tent to let air inside "will this be a wind tunnel -slash- it's such a beautiful day we need some air in here" and ultimately @larkinseventtents agreed (he's a saint, have I said that yet?) and this run-on sentence concludes with the news that we did take off the panels and the light shone in and it didn't rain and the breeze came through and it was magic and perfect and moral of the story, go with your gut and bring in the A team who will think things through then remember it fondly and share on an IG post because they're great at parties and terrible at social media. I kind of think that's a sweet little sentiment though, don't you?

PS - not pictured is me holding one side of the tarp panel on top of the tent before Larkin's team saved me from flying over the roof. The things we do - but man, I wouldn't change it in a heartbeat.
