So yea - rarely hopping on social media trends these days, but why tf not ☺️

I grew up doing gymnastics as a kid, but was told that I was „too young and too dainty“ when I was 6 - but I really wanted to, so I did.

When I got into Highschool they told me I should maybe go to an easier school because I was „too weak and emotional“ - but i really wanted to, so I did.

When I was 16 my brother told me at a carnival party I „Shouldn’t do so much with my arms while dancing, the ladies don’t like that“ - I kept dancing in whatever way I wanted.

When I wanted to try pole dance for the first time when I was 18, I was told „Men shouldn’t pole dance“ - but I really wanted to - so when I moved to Berlin, I did.

What a fucking ridiculous patriarchal binary double standard our society still subscribes to, is insane! Turns out: My gender-non-conforming ass is strong & beautiful & much more free than the all the straight people still caging themselves to fit in ♥️

Queer people just existing - learning to love themselves against all odds - are already much stronger, more resilient, more beautiful, more self reflected, more kind and loving than most of straight mainstream society will ever be 💋 this is my small but short love letter to all queer people, trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, agender, intersex & „people of all gender appropriations“ (thank you riri) 🤭🫰🏼

In the space behind my ribs
something kept breathing through plastic wrap,
fogging the inside of itself
silver latex stretched too tight across bone,
a second face vacuum-sealed to the first
mirrors choked quietly
instructions stitched into my sleeves:
stand straight, speak lower,
clip the blossom from your throat,
the sway of your hips
my lungs learned the shape of a plastic bag,
every inhale tasted manufactured.

sometimes I wish I was born a chandelier,
hanging from a steel chain,
swinging softly in the air,
mesmerizing people with my shimmer

no need to move much,
only to catch the light
and fracture it

each crystal a version of me
I didn’t have to choose between,
each reflection allowed to exist
without explanation

I would hum with the room
instead of resisting it,
let every passing glance
be enough and just be enough myself. ✨
