Indiana Humanities
We spark curiosity, connect people, and explore the human experience through programs, grants, and storytelling.

Opportunities to preserve our shared history, have meaningful conversations with neighbors, and enrich the quality of life for all Hoosiers are at risk.
While this news is disheartening and it might change the way we operate, it won’t stop us from continuing to spark curiosity, build connection, and share Hoosiers’ stories. It’s the people and partnerships that keep us going, and we couldn’t be more grateful for your continued support.
If you have the capacity to support us and our partners during this time, visit our website to learn more about ways to act now.

What are we reading lately, you ask?
Our programs and special projects manager Bronwen has been revisiting "Fables" by Arnold Lobel (of "Frog and Toad" fame).
"Filled with charming morals like 'All’s well that ends with a good meal' and 'Without a doubt, there is such a thing as too much order,' 'Fables' pairs each page-long parable with a lovely illustration, featuring a cast of well-dressed animals. The fables grapple with the characters’ anxieties and shortcomings, desires and delights, and regularly evoke the spirit of Lobel’s more familiar amphibian tales.
Taken in small bits or in its entirety, 'Fables' is sure to captivate readers and listeners alike. Just ask my three-year-old, Clive!"

In 10 days (!!!) I’ll be moderating a talk about @isaac.fitzgerald new book American Rambler: Walking the Trail of Johnny Appleseed
I grew up near Fort Wayne - going to Tin Caps games, I hid under the giant golden apple sculpture in the Glenbrook mall, eating a nearly sickening amount of apple crisp at the yearly festival - and the legend of John Chapman has always loomed large for me. So, I’m very excited to get to have this conversation with Isaac.
@loudmouthindy books will be hosting this event at @inhumanities - so grab your tickets and come hang out with us!
