My first choreography showcase!!🥹✨✨

little backstory the decision to do this piece:

At the beginning of this year, I was coming out of a pretty rough time. I wasn’t dancing as much and I had energy to spare so I started to choreographing at home,and eventually I was brave enough to have my first session with some dear friends.

At the end of the session, we wanted to videotape and couldn’t find anybody, so the person who rented out the studio after us offered and it was literally @kendricksamuel 😭. After watching the choreo, he said some kind words and then he challenged me to turn it into a visual within the next two weeks……
Safe to say it’s been more than two weeks lol.
But I say all this to say thank you to Kendrick for that affirmation and that push. (And thank you to the friends that day that doubled down on the encouragement and held me accountable🤍) I never forgot about the challenge and wanted to follow through for myself, even if it turned out to be something different than I intended. Then I saw the submissions for this open and took a chance.

I’m so glad that this is what came out of it.This full piece with even more dear friends and dancers I admire :)). So much fun was had on and off stage with this cast. I feel like you can see it in the movement and the choices they made (sooo many good choices wtf). I proud of us and so thankful for the experience. Thank you to @sybariteproductions for providing this space for us to experiment and share🙏🏾
