Time is a concept that can be challenging for humans to fully absorb. And despite our capacity to understand the abstract, we often rely on tangible constructions that witness our existence and it may hold the time within.
In August 2023, the T20 Collective invited artist Ibrahim Abdo for a 10-day artistic residency, which resulted in the creation of Tramonti di Sopra, Tramonti di Sotto. A series of short videos explores nature’s relationship with humans, humanity’s marks in nature, and the interplay between natural forms and human innovation.

The relationship between humans and nature remains intensely complicated. Modern humans often strive to disobey their bond to nature, attempting to harness and control it. Yet, in their pursuit of dominance, nature inevitably takes over at the end, reminding humanity of its enduring power and balance.
