Ted is back to take on the 350+ mile haul of Unbound XL in Emporia, Kansas 💪

Before the big ride, here’s a look at a few of the tricks and tweaks added to his Topstone setup, featuring a Lefty fork, Talfin Speedpacks for hydration and fuel, TT saddle + clip-on bars for the long haul, and René Herse Poteau Mountain 48 mm semi-slicks ready for the endless Kansas gravel.

Still two days out from the @unboundgravel XL so seems like as good time as any to put my feet up and relax! The bike’s prepped, nutrition’s dialed, the kit’s looking mint, fitness is optimized given life’s circumstances, sooooo hurry up and wait!

Oh, hurry up and meet us at @untappedmaple’s Creemees and Conversation Thursday 2-3pm at the expo! Carboloading by way of🍦🍦🍦is optimal, trust me.

One heck of a lead up to @unboundgravel I’ve put together 🤪 I thought a pair of @racedayxc races would be just the ticket on back to back weekends. But breaking some ribs last week at the Thunder Mountain XC event wasn’t part of my anticipated program so I then spent most of this week wincing between deep breaths.

That — plus some other exciting and very time consuming news(!!!) — has me boarding the plane to Kansas with sky high ambitions that hopefully match somewhere near reality. Stay tuned!

The UCI might have put a kibosh on anything bigger than 39mm tires for Paris-Roubaix but that doesn’t mean they put a damper on my kind of fun. Plush 48mm @reneherse smoothed out the ride in all the right ways.

This became something of an “Anthony Bourdain does bikes” as I caught up with DS for @efprocycling @andreas_klier to talk race tactics, I headed to historic @dekoninck Brewery and talk shop with brewmaster @dennisdepotter. We took in the race at the Cafe Koppenberg before going to the famous berg itself, before going to the @centrumrondevanvlaanderen where I caught sight of my place in the museum!

At the height of the spring classics, I headed over to Europe to watch the Ronde, the Tour of Flanders, but really the goal was to soak in the culture. This became something of an “Anthony Bourdain does bikes” as I caught up with DS for @efprocycling @andreas_klier to talk race tactics, I headed to historic @dekoninck Brewery and talk shop with brewmaster @dennisdepotter. We took in the race at the Cafe Koppenberg before going to the famous berg itself, before going to the @centrumrondevanvlaanderen where I caught sight of my place in the museum!

Taking an atypical page out of prep for @unboundgravel XL, my final two tune up races (yesterday and next week) for Kansas are the full throttle, XCO style, 90 minute races courtesy of @racedayxc.

I hit the lap button as much as the next guy, but I’d much rather have a number on my bike to get that 30 minutes of 500+W intensity⚡️

It is funny to think of 350 Flint Hills miles in increments of 90 minute segments. Cause there’ll be a whole lot of’em!
