There’s something timeless about watching Sven Kilchenmann’s footage from Darkstar’s Battalion — it’s one of those parts you rewind, not just for the tricks, but for the feel of that era. 🎥💥 Released in 2003 as Darkstar’s first full-length video, Battalion captured a global crew pushing street skating between Canada, California, and Europe — and Sven’s part stood out with its raw tech and relentless rhythm.

Set to “Same Old Thing” by The Streets, Sven’s section felt like watching someone skate to the pulse of the streets themselves — precise ollies, manuals, and lines that made you want to roll out right away.What’s cool looking back? Even back then, magazines and video coverage recognized Sven as a Swiss guy holding his own alongside the U.S. crew — filming both Stateside and in his Zurich home turf.

For many of us who grew up with DVDs and video mags, Battalion was more than skating — it was memory. Sven’s part is synonymous with rainy days watching skate videos, learning lines in the backyard, and chasing that same drive years later. 🛹✨
