Looking back to my first visit to play in Kyiv in 2018. I remember arriving at the event and being completely blown away by the location, 6k ppl for CXEMA, the level of production, the energy, vibes, and fierce spirit of the people who welcomed me so warmly. Everyone so kind and eager to show me around. It didn’t take me long to realize this was a special place, where a very honest, raw, unpretentious and exciting new scene was brewing, a powerful new current was emerging.

I had the chance to return three more times, each visit different, exciting, fresh and leaving me with deep impressions. My last time here I came to play K41 / ∄ for the NYE party, just weeks before the full-scale invasion.

Coming back now with my Mala fam to meet you all again, all the friends I’ve made, collaborated, worked with and danced side by side with after all these years, to feel the same warmth, enthusiasm and the bravery, is profoundly powerful. I’m humbled to be welcomed back and honoured to close today’s event.
