Under the Femme Gaze: Perspectives on Body, Power, and Self-Representation opens this Friday March 13th from 6pm-10pm and Saturday March 14th from 6pm-9pm.

Under the Femme Gaze is a group exhibition of femme and female identifying artists in partnership with Hydra Fund, a Detroit based mutual aid fund working to increase abortion access. This show examines the visual stories about their place in the world.

5$ suggested donation at the door will go directly to Hydra Fund.

This work challenges and engages gender norms, cultural bias, beauty standards, and power dynamics.

Come see what a room full of femme art looks like during women’s month.

This will be a one weekend exhibition.

Visitors can join us for access to nonperishable food, hygiene supplies, clothing, and harm reduction resources. Enjoy a fresh hot meal and participate in hands-on activities including a tatreez embroidery circle, and zine/craft table, and a DIY air purifier workshop. Learn how we can support each other as a community from local mutual aid groups, attend a Know Your Rights workshop about engaging with ICE.
All are welcome; come for resources, stay for connection. We encourage masking (high quality respirators will be provided) to help protect our community members. Out of respect for individual privacy, we kindly ask attendees to refrain from photographing event visitors.
