Wow ya’ll we had the most incredible time @nwfilmarchive. Thanks to @abbiejbrennan for showing us all about how they preserve and share over 60,000 items of film and video made in / and about the North for public and educational use. The archive is so cool - we fell in love with a prolific amatuer filmmaker who shot 9mm up until the 2000s and old BBC newsreel programmes and square tins. And specifically my NW dops - did you know that you can deposit your neg at the archive to be stored in the most professionally maintained archival cold vaults?? They don’t ask for copyright to be transferred to them and can usually offer a digital copy of your material free of charge. As real film up north blossoms your work can be a part of history.

A few years ago I became determined to get my hands on a 65mm camera - we had the budget - we wanted to teach highly skilled industry camera teams the format - but Steve and I just couldn’t gain access. In a moment of frustration and utter defeat I photoshopped steve and I with 65mm cameras and made a folder on my desktop labeled 65mm dreams.

Today our article on @britishcinematographer magazine is out talking about our journey with Logmar and publishing our first test rushes with full exposure notes. (Link in bio)

We hope to shoot more - share our findings - and get tons more folks hands on with this camera. So much more coming soon 🩵🎞️ ( and to those camera folks I am 2 years overdue in delivering 65mm training - I will finally deliver this to you! )

This wouldn’t be possible without @kodak_shootfilm @digital_orchard film team @the_filmlab_guy @danredrup @whitepoint_optics @lib.byy_and so many friends and fam who live film and generosity. Thanks for making my dreams come true.

Endless appreciation for my partner in crime at every step of the way @stevenwyattdop
