What started more than a year ago in a conversation between Monia and me has now become a book. An insight into Monia’s artistic practice, a situating of her work in the here and now. ‘Path of Totality’ – the eclipse that occurs when the moon covers the sun. And the hope for another world, especially in times of darkness.

With the wonderful voices of Övül Ö. Durmuşoğlu, Beya Othmani, and Sira Pizà. Beautifully designed by A Language (Martin, Melina, and Emma). Published in December 2025 by Mousse Publishing. I’m humbled and grateful for this collaboration.

«Soft Radiation» – die hängenden Tonskulpturen, die Maya Hottarek im Oberlichtsaal im Haus für Kunst Uri zeigt, sind Installation und Sound-Landschaft zugleich. Maya spürt den energetischen Verflechtungen und den Schwingungen zwischen unseren Körpern, Material und Objekten nach. Infrarotsender registrieren die Körper der Besucher*innen und lösen eine multisensorische Choreografie aus Licht, Duft und Sound aus. Dabei ist die Klangkomposition aus dem Frequenzspektrum entwickelt, das dem Chakrasystem entspricht: Jeder Ton interagiert mit einem bestimmten Resonanzfeld unseres Körpers. Die Installation spürt in diesem Sinne auch den Schnittstellen zwischen Quantendenken und Heilpraktiken nach: Schwingungen sind als messbares Phänomen in der Quantenphysik zentral und sind zugleich ein metaphysisches Instrument der Transformation.

The collective IG Maisander and the artists Dorota Gawęda and Eglė Kulbokaitė explore these questions. They have taught me to look at lichens and to miss the smell of rainwater on damp earth.
