And I can’t do any of this without the inspiration of my teammates. Being backstage with our girls this weekend just fired me up even more for my own season 🎉
I get to be home for the next few weeks, laser focused and well rested. Now it’s all about fine-tuning.
We like to be ready early so that we can cruise in with plenty of time to make adjustments. I feel like @jamidebernard and I have mastered the art of the hakuna matata prep this year 😂 That’s kind of the only way I can describe it. We’re chillin, going in confident in the work we put in, and we have objectives (versus expectations).

I feel a little blessed to be living and pursuing athletic greatness during this time. I’ve been able to see the tide turn in a big way over the past 20-ish years and I love that the lazy stoner stereotype is a thing of the past. It’s 2026 and we’re getting shredded, healthy, creative and happy 🙌🏻
This plant is just here to enhance the experience. It’s not a MUST. Could I prep without it? Sure. Could I have great workouts? Absolutely! But it’s here when I want it and when I think it can make life just a little better.
And as someone who grew up with an alcoholic parent, I’ll yell this from the rooftops all day. Alcohol could never make my mental health better or help me hit PRs or help me sleep better (and wake up refreshed 😉).

I adopted this baby 9 years ago from @badrap_advocacy. But the question still remains, who rescued who 🥹
Are you being clear enough, and *realistic* enough about your goals? How to achieve this 👇🏼
1️⃣ Get in touch with what you truly want (it’s your body; get very clear on this)
2️⃣ Talk it over with your coach (your relationship should ideally be a collaborative one, in which they’re willing to listen & educate). They’ll help you land on exactly what is required to reach that goal.
*If you don’t have a coach, you’ll need to work through this yourself.
3️⃣ Understand that your actions must then align with the goal. This is the point where you assess your capacity. Not what you *think* you can do, what you know you can do.
4️⃣ Get to work. Adjust as needed. Life shifts sometimes, so understand goals may need to shift as well.
5️⃣ Be kind to yourself and be extremely careful with the comparison game… (unless you truly think that all humans should be exactly the same and if that’s the case you’ve got bigger, more existential fish to fry 🙃)

Last year was all about learning and data collection. Coming back after several years off I was feeling pretty green, so I just dedicated myself to soaking up every little piece of information and feedback.

An afternoon of absolutely nerding OUT with @allyson.spungin.fitness is exactly what I needed 🤝
To hit the stage with a pro-level physique, training has to be on point and every movements MUST be tailored for me and my mechanics. This is a sport of constant improvement and we have to set our egos aside & let the experts take over. We are always students of our sport 🙌🏻
Some of what we revamped with my program:
- Floor bridges instead of hip thrusts
- Deep curtsy lunge instead of standard glute focused lunge
- Revamped my B stance RDL setup
- Added cable abductor
- New cues for my RDLs
So glad to have Allyson as an amazing new resource on our team (and my new neighbor 🥹❤️)

All of these certainly CAN be true when things are mismanaged. I’m just saying that bodybuilding does not have to be *inherently* unhealthy.
In this sport we do take risks, but they need to be calculated ones.
At the end of last season (which definitely was my hardest push to date) I had my labs done and we were so happy with what we saw 🎉 Zero hormone / thyroid issues, improved markers all around.
But it has taken many years of working with @hormone_logics logics & @joannadara414 to get here! I came to them with some issues and we’ve consistently stayed on top of everything for years (plus optimizing absolutely anything we can optimize 😅)
And of course it takes a coach who a) cares about longevity b) stays on top of my labs/biofeedback and c) will pull my ass out of a show/season if she suspects my health could be compromised 👏🏼👏🏼
Your health as a bodybuilder does not HAVE to be run into the ground. Don’t just assume it’s going to be. Instead, maintain a proactive mindset, a lot of awareness and of course the right people in your corner ❤️

And actually falling back in love with kickbacks! (swipe 👉🏼)
These crossovers are soooo good (when they’re good). As always the focus is on stability in the body. When I come at every exercise with a stability focus, I get WAY much more out of the movement.
And if you need more stability, slow yoga and Pilates are your friends 👌🏼
Alright, back to stuffing my face and taking care of this bod so I can come out swingin this year 💃🏼
