HACKNEY: This Place Then – What a brilliant night at @bootstrapcharity for the launch of @hackneyhistoryfest.

It was a real pleasure to host the opening event here in @dalston_cultural_quarter, bringing people together for stories, local history, conversation and community.

Huge thanks to everyone who came, spoke, listened, shared memories and helped make the night feel so special — and to @hackney_society and everyone involved in bringing the festival to life.

Monday I did a thing.
My first ever (well officially anyways) guided tour. And, did it in my neighbourhood.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I think the attendees did too. Of course, there's room for improvement, however the opportunity to speak my truth amongst many other truths is important, nay necessary.

And what a year to start singing! #savoy100

Hackney is home to me. Renaissance Harlem is heart home to me.

Lenox Avenue Harlem is not Chatsworth Road Hackney and vice versa, but, there are more similarities than differences (to coin a phrase). So I, am going to lean into those 😊.

Anyhoo.
