I am pleased that my photography / collage work "Like Iron" is alongside that of many Moroccan and international photographers and artists, under the theme "Let's Play: A Reenchanted World." The exhibition is taking place at the historical site of Fort Rottembourg, now @museenationaldelaphotographiede Rabat; and is part of @bienalsurate, dedicated to contemporary art. Many thanks to @soufianeer , and the curatorial and organizational team for building this project.

In 2023, Allae, @djebliclub and his family hosted a ten-day residency for visual artists. The theme was 'A-Rust', focusing on what marks the beginning of a new era for the internet : of course, AI.

While part of my work focuses on mass information and its impact on knowledge, "Like Iron" is born differently, out of play, fun, experimentation, photography, and chance.

Thinking about how a village like Mokrissat, calm, quiet, where sometimes, we barely reach internet, can encounter future transformations in our postmodern times, in the high rise of automatisme, human work replacement, bots and ai.

Out of all the dystopian scenarios, this series was a first experiment in making collage from photography of Mokrissat Landscape, with generated figures. Over clean seperation between human and artificial creation, the fear of replacement and absolute domination, can we think of a place for cohabitation? co-existence ?

Iron rusts. It softens. It adapts. Can we?

Iron rusts. It softens. It adapts. Can we?

Happy to be among the 100 selected for the 2025 Prince Claus Seed Award. A recognition that comes at such a significant moment in my journey, between my previous works and my next chapter in filmmaking.

Going through different stations, starting with photography then installations, performance, and video, this path is a tribute to my coworkers from my employee life, the heroes that defy the long days of struggle, keeping smiles behind social pressures.

My artistic practice is grounded in my ten years of experience as a former sales and management worker. Often focusing on mental health in the workplace, my work reflects how workers navigate monotony, alienation, and loss of purpose in routines.

Thanks to everyone who supported my work, trusted my research and encouraged my process. The path ain’t stopping here for sure.

Some seem me as a visual artist, others as a stage photographer, well I’m both. But not as separate worlds, @lboulevard_festival is somehow where those two sides meet.

Lboulevard is that place that built a part of me, not only as a stage photographer, but also as an someone who gets into the crowd, understands them, and sees their evolution through the years. As a photographer, the festival believed in me, and my work on the stage is always shaped by that experience.

Shout out to the photography team, and every photographer we meet there, who come and give their best so we can all visually enjoy this spectacular living experience!

I love music, and I love to see people enjoying it, gathering around it, and celebrating their differences, freely and loudly.

In today’s context, on the growing restrictions on freedom of speech, I hold a deep belief in the power of gatherings to offer young people a space to express who they are and what sets them apart. I still believe in that power.

L’Boulevard Festival is one of the rare places in Morocco where audiences are granted the precious privilege of simply being themselves. It’s a culture that has fascinated me, not only as an artist but also as a middle-class Moroccan who grew up in a popular neighborhood.

All my love and gratitude to @lboulevard_festival. to the entire organization and the spirit it carries.

Each August, the coastal town of Moulay Abdellah hosts one of Morocco’s largest moussems. For a week, pilgrims, horsemen and traders gather in honour of the Sufi saint Moulay Abdellah Amghar. Between the thunder of tbourida charges and the bustle of the souk, photographer @h8mid captures the essence of a tradition that still draws hundreds of thousands.

Third part of sharing the outcome of my three-month art residency at @miskartinst in Riyadh.

‘No Land for the Lost Routine’, explores well-being within work environments. It seeks to investigate the future of labor in postmodern societies, where automation is increasingly prevalent. Through a conceptual narrative that blends photography, Photography-Essay and performance, the project highlights the absurdities of contemporary employment, portraying challenges of monotony, absurdism, and purposelessness. It deals with the implications of automation and questions how machines replacing workers can lead to a re-evaluation of work-life balance, potential job losses, or even a liberation from work responsibilities.

The narrative follows a group of explorers on a quest to uncover the legend of the last workers. As they uncover the mysteries of this world, they engage in profound ideological debates about the value of work versus the liberation from it. Through the narrative Belahmidi playfully discusses human purpose and the ongoing pursuit of meaning.

Second part of sharing my three-month residency project and research at @miskartinst. The project, titled No Land for the Lost Routine, explores questions about the future of work and imagines fictional possibilities as automation takes over the world of jobs.

This series of photos, captured on 35mm film, re-creates images of abandoned industrial areas in Riyadh and documents the city’s rapid transformation into a more intelligent and technologically advanced landscape.
