More from our latest A GRIME SUPREME London sessions with our Music Leaders @swindleuk , @mosesboydexodus , @griftonnb1 and @mangasainthilare featuring a very special inspiration drop in from @kojeyradical and @eli1ah, in partnership with the fantastic @udmusicldn at their HQ in Newham. 25 young people mentored by some of the finest jazz musicians, producers and MCs to create new music and build new communities - empowerment through music.
The musicians and MCs who took part will be on stage this Saturday for of our big @bricklanetaproom takeover for @bricklanejazzfestival.
This will be a particularly poignant performance for the A GRIME SUPREME project as it falls in the same week as the anniversary of the passing of Bailey Churchill (aka Baytrilla), a talented DJ and music producer with a bright future. Bailey’s mother Jo, with support from his family and friends, wanted to honour his memory and help fulfil some of his dreams through a special memorial fund. It was their incredible efforts to crowdfund that enabled us to stage the very first A GRIME SUPREME workshop at the Southbank Centre in April 2022.
Since then, the project has inspired young musicians in Gloucester, Stroud, Hull and Brighton before ‘bringing it home’ to London in the last few weeks. Huge thanks to Jo and Bailey’s friends and family for being the spark behind this incredible lasting testament.
