I don't think Alex Van Halen is underrated, I just think he's overlooked and his name isn't included enough alongside the greatest rock 'n' roll drummers. The guitar solo section of Jump is genius. Who knows what the time signature is? I can only count to 4 so I can only play this by feel 😆
I did a super quick mix with just Kick mic and a room mic and squashed it with compression. Thanks @zhachkelsch for letting me play these beautiful Ludwigs @goatlairstudio 🤘🏼🤘🏼

after decades of wanting a 'vintage' Les Paul, I finally found one that I love. A 1976 Deluxe. I didn't have to look far because I'm in the process of buying it from my drummer's dad Gary, who actually found it through my friend and former band-mate, @schwartzy80, who found it in a studio in New York City. I believe the guitar was initially owned by a member of Chaka Khan's band.
Never fret, Gary. It shouldn't take me TOO long to pay off 😂

Don't let the Hong Kong locals hear you call these trolleys. They affectionately call them, the 'Ding Ding'
They've been in operation since 1904 and are the world's largest fleet of operating double-decker trams! They're cheap to ride and a slow paced way to check out the northern part of Hong Kong Island!

My influences as a bass player were the thrash guys that used a pick. Greg Christian-Testament, Dave Ellefson-Megadeth, Jason Newsted-Flotsam & Jetsam/Metallica etc, etc... I loved the aggressive style and sound they had. Hang the bass low, dig in with a pick. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
It wasn't until much later I started appreciating guys like John Paul Jones of course, John Entwistle etc.
