Here is the story told by him:
“A lot of people seem to like this clip so here’s a little story time about the most legendary snare swap with my boy Lee (@dinosarus) ‼️
Happened over the summer in Liverpool while out with @gayle opening for @pink - I had put those Evans snare wires on with the little bobby pin thing that holds them in place (not a fan lol). Pin slipped out and I lost my wires so I switched to my side snare. I knew the pre-chorus was coming up and I would have time to switch it out so I told Lee in my talk back to get ready. Threw my stick in my mouth, made the switch and got it in place just in time for the chorus! Lee had my wires back on the main by the end of the song and back on my kit for the next one 💪🏼
It’s not about making sure things don’t go wrong - it’s about knowing how to stay cool and handle it when they do go wrong ‼️”
What I love most about this clip is that it’s 100% teamwork to make it happen. Andrew recognizes that it’s easier for him to hand his tech the old snare and put the snare on himself instead of the tech doing everything.
Also, it’s trust in his tech that the new snare is spot on to the sound that the other one was. That’s why there is no fidgeting with tuning.
