Theater- en actieweekend over trans levens, kunst en strijd op 13 en 14 juni bij ons in Leiden tijdens Pride Month. Save the date for TRANS!

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁
Pride begon als protest in 1969 tijdens de Stonewall Riots in New York. En voor trans mensen is dat protest urgenter dan ooit. Wereldwijd staan onze rechten onder druk. Ook in Nederland ervaren trans mensen geweld, bureaucratische drempels in de zorg, politieke tegenwind en dagelijkse micro-agressies. TRANS is een artistiek antwoord daarop.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗴 𝟭𝟯 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗶 – 𝗭𝗲𝗶𝗸𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗸 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽
De discussie over waar een trans persoon moet plassen komt steeds terug. Maar hoe plas je als je zo’n transgender medemens bent, en wat maak je mee in de woeste wereld van de openbare wc? Verhalen uit de pot gegrepen. Zeikstuk wordt gespeeld door 23 trans personen tussen de 18 en 70 jaar. Na de voorstelling 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 in de tuin!

Op 𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗮𝗴 geeft Podium Sleutelwoord een inspirerende 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 waarin deelnemers hun stem, identiteit en creativiteit verkennen en versterken.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗴 𝟭𝟰 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗶 – 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲, 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗶𝗻
Het kloppend hart van de zondag is de Trans Theatre Performance Matinee, met o.a. Luca Braak, Mees Elias van Zanten, Isadora Tomasi, SissyPhusss, Jonathan Bonny en Jonny Tudor. Verwacht performances die bewegen tussen gender voorbij én juist middenin wat er in onze broek zit – en wat en wie we daar willen hebben. Daarnaast openen we de dag met Trans Awakening: een queer mentale weerbaarheidsworkshop, voor en door de trans community, is er een fysieke queer weerbaarheidstraining en dj's en cocktails in the sun.

TRANS is geen uitlegprogramma. Geen beleefde kennismaking. Geen debat. Het is een uitnodiging om positie in te nemen. Pride is nog steeds protest. En wij zijn nog niet klaar!

In the piece Rita Bifulco and Isadora Tomasi promote a space for grieving, for holding each other’s stories, for staying with the unresolvedness of certain situations and feelings. The performers share both intimate and fictional stories, using the power of imagination to explore pleasure. They weave together text, decomposed choreographies, live music, Dj-sets and transforming into a multiplicity of characters.

Inspired by queer theorists such as Sara Ahmed, Paul B. Preciado, and Jack Halberstam, 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙚 explores the concept of "fluidity" within the realm of performance.
