Recently, we were able to match a very unique donation! 🦪🦪🦪

One of our donors, @1hotel.southbeach, was looking to donate a large quantity of oyster shells. We were able to connect the donation with the Biscayne Bay Foundation. The donation of oyster shells will greatly contribute to the Foundation's efforts in cleaning up our waterways. A perfect match!

When organizations donate with Copia their food is connected directly to a nonprofit within 4-7 miles! This gives businesses of all types, shapes, and sizes the opportunity to make a direct impact on their community.

It’s #EarthDay! 🌎

You might be thinking… “Copia, What does food waste have to do with Earth Day?”

Well, unfortunately, our food systems are broken and they are rapidly deteriorating our planet. We’re not here to sugarcoat it.

Nearly 40% of all food produced in the US ends up in the landfill (producing methane!), much of it being perfectly edible food – a valuable resource that should be used to feed our neighbors in need. Reducing food waste is an integral part of the solution to climate change for our planet, and the people living on it.

The good news is that you can be part of the solution! If your business has surplus food – stop sending it to the landfill and send it to one of the many nonprofit organizations eager to receive donations.
