With all of the thunderstorms our Red LJ was retaining a little water this morning. Looks like it is time to replace some door and hardtop seals soon and leave the plug undone until I fix it. Good thing it is a Jeep and made for this although the Armorlite flooring certainly did its job at holding it.

Yesterday I made a judgement call and boy was I wrong. There was a sign which when I got out of the Jeep to walk the route options I thought to be a little misleading. I don’t like taking bypasses if I don’t have to and I’m not going to baby my Jeep but I do have to keep in mind I am solo and this is my home. Add in the fact I have no money to fix what I need to fix now and I don’t have the “influence” to reach out to companies to ask for help or product. I have to be smart but also remind myself to have fun. You guys should know, I dislike mud. Slinging mud, stagnant water and bouncing off the rev limiter has never appealed to me, I like being in control and let’s face it in mud you have limited control. But I have also seen too many hydro locked and blown motors because of mud pits.
I praise God for all the knowledge and experience I have accumulated over the years from people like @morrisonsoutdooradventures @yoboyoadventures @mikeheath436 and so many others, to being a trail guide for @jeepjamboreeusa and @jeepadventureacademy that when I chose that wrong path and sank into that mud hole up to my doors and the Jeep would no longer move forwards or backwards I only hesitated and freaked out for half a moment. Once I figured out which route I was going to take I found my just in case point, a good size tree on the other size but that’s where my planning endedwhich was also a mistake, I didn’t pull any recovery gear, didn’t stage my winch or pull my controller down. But I crawled out my window, onto the bumper and started dragging winch line and quickly self recovered. I have a video from my wolfbox as soon as I can find my little doggle thing to pull it off the SD card.
I definitely would have preferred my floorboards to have not filled with water but I’m grateful for @goarmorlite floors so I can easily drain the water, not have to worry about soggy carpets and don’t have to worry about mold or mildew. Then there’s cleaning the dog hair cause Daisy is having another coat blow out and getting dog hair out of factory carpets was exhausting and never ending.
