Dave Cho has long been a neophile, pursuing different passions throughout his life. He studied theology at seminary school, nearly becoming a minister. Then he pursued a music career, busking for coins on the streets.
But when Cho discovered wine, he found something he could stick with.
In 2020 Dave and his wife Lois founded CHO Wines in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, focusing on Pinot Noir and sparkling wine. They believe they are the first Korean-American winery in the state. While they didn’t set out to be first in that, or cultivate a market for Asian American consumers, it just worked out that way.

“Complete with a bright tasting room that’s one palm tree away from being a Monterey beach house, Cho is for every kind of wine person. Want an analysis on what extra-high elevation does to old-school pinot, chardonnay, and blanc de noirs? A reserve flight with banchan? Or an endless handful of puffed Korean macaroni snacks with hibiscus-y pét-nat while gazing past the hilltops? It’s all yours for the snatching. We’re most smitten with Cho’s effervescent stuff, but try to snag a bottle of their riesling to bring home—a match made in vineyard for some post-vacation spicy Thai curry takeout.” - Aimee Rizzo, Infatuation Magazine

A BIG👋🏼 from the Chos! Two years!!! Since we opened our doors to you!
Since then, we’ve watched babies take their first steps.Held space for celebrations of life and love, our own harvest celebrations, KPOP karaoke before it became mainstream, kimchi celebrations, and opened more sparkling wine than we could’ve ever imagined when we first started dosage trials at our kitchen table.
But it wasn’t all rosy 🥴 We experienced the roughest patch of our near 20 years of marriage with the opening of our tasting room, said some tearful goodbyes (thankfully not to Dave 😉), and as we hosted all your joyous moments learned to hold each other near and dear through the ups and downs.
And in the midst of accolades, we keep striving for excellence while balancing (juggling?) our family life.
So, where am I going with this? As we head into our third year and summer season of laughter and drinks on the patio, we just wanted to say a BIG thank you.
Thank you for supporting our small family business. For sending guests our way. For believing in our vision. Growing alongside us and seeing the hustle behind the Instagram facade.
We’re so grateful for what we’ve built together. So grateful for our bomb CHO leaders @dastaeng @jyuriayung who deserve all the flowers and praises 💐💙🤍 for helping us carry out the dream day in and day out!
Here’s to another year at Cho Vineyards!!

Fruit has officially set on our Founders Block baby vines for our first vintage at Cho Vineyards. We can’t believe this moment has finally come. We planted these vines in 2022 with a small hope that one day we’d carry on a legacy of our own in wine country.
With still so much unknown ahead, this moment sparks hope amidst the uncertainty of this year.
Our special visitors @jinwoon52 @hogyu_n @o_seungyun @yeomi.travel were among the first to witness this moment.
Here’s to the first growing season at CHO Wines!
Nearly seven hundred of these thousand baby vines at the Founders Block have been adopted by our Founders Club members and are making history with us right here at Cho Vineyards.
There’s a lot of activity happening - currently suckering (pulling unnecessary shoots to allow all the nutrients focus on this clusters).
If you’re a member, this is the perfect time to visit your baby vine.

🚨 NEW WINE ALERT 🚨
Our 2025 Sauvignon Blanc is hitting the tasting room this weekend just in time for the transition to our Summer Tasting Menu.
Two separate picks - an early and later pick to add an additional layer of complexity. With the earlier pick, you get citrus and zippy acidity, the later pick you’ll get development of fruit notes typical to sauvignon blanc - stone fruit/tropical/guava/lychee and softer floral aromatics.
This wine captures both the youth and richness of sauv blanc!
Perfect gardening wine 🧑🌾
