South by Southwest (SXSW) 40th Anniversary × Tapnow × FuturePixelHouse

Thanks to @tapnow.ai_official / @futurepixelhouse for the invitation, which allowed me to witness the magic of AI imagery in a space filled with cowboy hats. I’m really glad I had the chance to be on-site at SXSW and share my thoughts on using “nonlinear” thinking in AIGC creation. Within a limited time, I also put together a concept short film on-site for the collaborating brand. Coincidentally, among the guests present, Wenkai, Sedat, and I all share a strong love for Y2K aesthetics.

Once again, creation is the way we connect with others in the age of AI—and how we interact with the world.

Excited to speak at SXSW with @futurepixelhouse

For a long time, we built technology to extend our senses.
However, what happens when technology begins to sense us back and felt us?

I’ll be sharing my research, exploring soft wearables and physiological sensing interfaces that translate signals from the body into new forms of understanding and interaction.

I’ll be sharing my research, exploring soft wearables and physiological sensing interfaces that translate signals from the body into new forms of understanding and interaction.

FuturePIXEL @futurepixelhouse opens SXSW @sxsw with an immersive night session curated by Daniel Clayton (480P) inside the Mexic-Arte Museum — where house, IDM and experimental electronica meet real time generative visuals and spatial media.

Light, music, code and bodies moving between signals.

In the space will be featured films from Billie Ocean, Leo Wan, Yaluo Wang, and Jody Stillwater.

LA-based producer Alex Parker headlines with a hybrid live set exploring the edges of IDM and experimental electronica — precise, immersive, and built for the moment. Victor Vega, a longtime pillar of San Francisco’s underground house scene brings his a hardware driven approach designed to keep us moving. Héloïse, whose live analog compositions blend techno with machine-learning instrumentation.

Each musical act is supported by immersive audio reactive visuals provided by Daniel Clayton (480P), Bohan Sun (NLINK), Yangqi Yang (YYSPACE), and Andrew Butcher (5projectors).

I’m excited to be talking at @futurepixelhouse tomorrow at SXSW! If we are intentional, AI has the potential to make public services more human. My colleague Genevieve Gaudet and I will be sharing about what we are learning at Nava Labs from building and researching AI tools for caseworkers who help families navigate and enroll in food, housing, and healthcare programs.
