April presented us with more questions than answers.
The combination of time and journeys both far and familiar gifted us a new appreciation of quietness. Allowing us to find comfort in areas of discomfort–there’s a calmness in the unknown.
During train rides and long walks we made space to cloud watch and day dream. Through rock hunting and foraging we’re learning the delicate importance of stewardship–for our land, our creative practice, ourselves. The fresh earth underneath each overturned rock is renewing our curiosity.
We’re reconnecting to long lost processes while also voraciously learning new practices. Belly laughs have returned, we’re writing manageable lists, and our sleep is sound. For the foreseeable future we intend to be intensely and fully present; asking, listening, noticing, unearthing.

We’re thrilled to be participating once again in @hae.hi.design ! ! !
Volume IV is centered around objects for the kitchen and hosting. We designed FOUR new objects; two serving platters, an apron and a bottle stopper. All on view now through 4/6 in Reykjavík as part of @designmarch

*wish we were in 🇮🇸 too! Skál!

It’s been 1 month since we closed our storefront. We’re trying to relearn what rest is. To follow paths that peak our interest and excite us. We’re taking workshops-solely for fun, we’re going on long walks, reading, writing, cooking, swimming, and taking it slow. Embracing a new pace, a new mindset, and lots of letting go.

Dear fruitsuper community—we need your help—we’re reaching out to you with full transparency and vulnerability.
These past 6 months have been the most difficult of our nearly twenty year studio history—our sales, spirits and foot traffic are unbelievably low. The struggle our storefront @fruitsupershop is currently facing is very, very real.
OUR ASK?
We need you to rally around us and show up in any and all ways that you’re able.
Your support will ensure that we’re able to continue doing what we love—for you—and our community.

With exhausted but eternally optimistic hearts,
Sallyann & Joe

PROCESS: The short story of our Salad Servers, a mere 5 years in the making!
At times our design process is quick and direct, but more often than not ideas synthesize over a loooong period. Sometimes they refuse to be rushed and insist on following their own timeline!
For example, the first time we wrote “Salad Servers” in a notebook was in 2019. We sketched a few, prototyped a couple, and unsatisfied, we set them aside. In 2022 we revisited our previous concepts, prototyped, sketched, and tested again. In 2023 we found a teeny, tiny piece of beach glass that inspired us to revisit this project with a fresh approach. We finally reached this design in 2024.

A series of exceptionally straightforward objects designed with a single purpose–to hold an egg. Explored in three materials: brass, walnut, and aluminum–each of these forms express a uniquely ordinary approach to the simple act of enjoying an egg.
Nest, Throne, Toast and Pedestal. We designed these exclusively for The Egg Cup Show at @helloyowie
