I perform with, research, and teach live coded visuals with wacky mathematics. DMs open for collabs + commissions + workshops.
More compute shader stuff. There's feedback between the color of each pixel and its position, so as the color changes it changes the speed of its movement. The three videos are produced with pretty minor variations in the system.

A demo on livecoding with conductive fabrics that I showed at the HLCI research workshop last month. Conductive yarn changes it's electrical properties when you stretch it, so I treat it like a visual instrument: scratching, poking, tugging, and playing with it creates different electrical signals, that I can then translate into different visual effects.
The right hand side of the screen is code for a compute shader that I can edit in real time to change the visuals. I think it's neat because I can change the signals that I get from the yarn with my hands and then change how it effects the visuals with the code.
Also, thanks to @charstiles for showing me how to live code with compute shaders!

I recently made Hydra-FCS, an extension to @hydravideosynth for creating visuals inspired by algebraic geometry. FCS uses different mathematical representations of curves and surfaces to create a large set of visual effects that can chained together in a whole bunch of ways.
I got to workshop FCS with a few friends today, which was an awesome experience teaching and creating cool stuff together. Thanks @liacole7 @fluxophile @capalmer1013 @olgaakop @shrugbread for participating! You all are truly mathematical champions.
There's a short and sweet tutorial on FCS in my bio if you want to try it out. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on how to use it.

Excited to perform visuals with @gooddudelojack at @bad.sauna tomorrow night from 6-10 PM
I'm trying to incorporate prisms and mirrors into my setup. It's fun to have a live video feed of the prisms, which then gets projected back through them

I've had a little bit of time and creative energy recently to do some experiments in fractals + tiling. Happy holidays :)

Very excited to perform visuals September 19th at @banthateabar for the album release party of Sun Turret, a wonderful friend and very talented musician. Description below:
Sun Turret @sunturret is an electronic musician from Pittsburgh who has been creating synthpop and hypnogogic pop for years, with several full-length albums released online. Join us on release day to celebrate his seventh vaporwave album, Orbit, featuring a live performance of selections from the new record, along with other highlights from his discography.
Also performing are Plasma Arc @in.ca.pax (industrial, ambient, de-club) and Tender B. Cryin @tender.b.cryn.pgh (experimental, ambient). Live visuals will accompany the sets, provided by Friendly Spinach and Luxlain @olgaakop
In addition, custom jewelry by Makings From the Earth @makingsfromtheearth and clothing by Self Cyphadeen @self__cyphadeen will be available for purchase.

Finally uploaded the entirety of my camera onto the cloud - about four years worth of photos. Photography was my gateway into creative coding - trying to come up with algorithms that make the textures go crazy while still connecting to the very real experience of the image.
These six slides contain two photos taken a couple weeks ago on a road trip through Colorado and Utah, as well as some shader based fuckery of said photos.
