📍 Berlin

Hello! @zenadj__ , @formella.1 and @jaycarderdj present to you a new event series focussed on frequency and sound. These aren’t club nights, or indeed wellness events. They’re something in between. Deep dub, ambient and live sets, and guests, will all focus around a chosen set of frequencies for each event.
We are very excited to announce our debut event at Ikii Berlin, starting proceedings with a focus on ‘grounding’ frequencies. @jeena.wav will be our first guest.
The experience is supported by sound, touch, scent, colour, and taste to create a gentle, multi sensory environment.
Sound: Rooted in grounding frequencies, 174 Hz (foundation of security), 104 Hz (calming), 396 Hz (stability), and 256 Hz.
6-7pm: ZE:NA
7-8pm: Jay Carder (live set)
8-9pm: Jeena.wav (live set)
9-10pm: Formella

We discovered the next Herbarium artist @formella.1 through her amazing track ‘dripstep’, released on amazing @bait__music. She immediately caught our attention with her unique way of implementing vocals in bass music. In this 37th Herbarium episode, she proved this again with the fascinating blend of dubby cuts, some techno and bass music bits. Formella chose the Dandelion (latin taraxacum) for her musical inspiration. 🌼
Here’s a little bit of background about her choice:
I wanted to choose something that intertwines with the city & nature. I find that coexistence can be beautiful and I currently belong somewhere in-between the two as well.
The dandelion grows through cracks in the city, often overlooked and considereda weed, but it has strong spiritual significance. It symbolises hope (blowing a wish) and resilience, communication and creativity. It also has powerful medicinal properties, hence the psychedelic edge carried throughout the mix.
I added field recordings of birds from my local park, with people running by & trains creating drone sounds over bridges, moments of city and nature woven into the mix. Berlin’s often called ugly, but I disagree. I wanted to bring in some of the moments I find beautiful.
I imagined the start of the mix as the seed dispersing from the dandelion and drifting off into the city as it floats through the night.. and the cycle goes on..

About Formella
Formella is a London-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer moving across the full spectrum of bass-driven club music. Her sets are weighty yet spacious, connecting dubstep, halftime, psychedelic drum & bass, jungle and textural techno through a shared focus on low-end physicality, rhythmic detail and space.
Rather than conforming to fixed genres, she builds fluid, narrative-driven sets guided by intuition and contrast. This sensibility was shaped during three years at OYE Records, where deep, cross-genre digging became second nature and continues to inform her selection practice.
As a member of Femme Bass Mafia, Formella combines performance with technical education and community-led formats.

FINAL SURPRISE REVEALED:
Warrior Queen (MC) feat. Formella
For the first time ever, two singular forces converge on the Refractor stage.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Warrior Queen is a true icon of sound system culture, a voice that has shaped generations through collaborations with artists like The Bug, Skream or Lee “Scratch” Perry, and timeless anthems such as Poison Dart . Her presence carries the raw energy of dancehall, dub and UK bass lineage, a voice that cuts through systems worldwide.
Alongside her, Formella brings a deeply immersive and forward-thinking approach to bass music, weaving together dubstep, jungle, psychedelic drum & bass and textural techno into fluid, narrative-driven journeys . Rooted in sound system culture and low-end physicality, her sets move between pressure, space and atmosphere with precision and intuition.
Together, they present a never-before-seen live collaboration, merging Warrior Queen’s unmistakable vocal force with Formella’s sculptural sound selection, a dialogue between heritage and future frequencies.
Don’t miss the new chapter written live at Refractor.
