@nahuel.gerth impressed us a helluva lot during his 2024 @inscript.tf presentation, using the body as an interface toward typographic ends. Now, we’ve invited him back to make a cameo (or more!) at our upcoming @fleuron.tf, and delve into the ways he thinks about nature through the lens of code

The 2026 #fleuron—taking place live, online, April 22-24—will showcase work from @colorsandthekids, @aiste_ambrazeviciute, @mrkdrf, @_marcdavid_, @bonnie2.0.0, @hypereikon, @perspek.steven, @annaluciacodes, @jinyoungkim.official, @celinehurka, @launorma, @petreske, @yudho.xyz, @alexvxvxvxvx. 🤍 Meant to be a broad catalyst for learning and tech, the presentations at #fleuron span creative code, illustration, typography, installation art, interactivity, gadgetry, dimensional design, and new tools, with a focus on what’s captivating creative minds today, presented both as theory and practice.

tickets available: 🔗 fleuron.tf 🤍 🌱

This Women’s Day, get her the flower robot she’s always wanted. Works by visual artist @rachelyoun.

On making kinetic work, Youn says that “movement could be as simple as spinning, or things could be really chaotic or truly destroying themselves in the process of moving. When a thing moves, that thing feels alive; it has a personality.” In that same interview with @thecreativeindependent, Youn also talks about the middle-classness of robotics, “a massager is a replacement for a masseuse, a baby swing is a replacement for a nanny. It’s like there are these distilled functions that are just powered by cheap motors that perform one repetitive task over and over again. If you’re really wealthy, you hire the person. If you’re really poor, you do it yourself. And then if you’re in this weird middle-class zone, you find an appliance.”

Keep on following us at @fleuron.tf, at the overlap of nature, tech, robotics, design, and the uncanny timeline we’re all sharing. With much more to come.

Light projections on nature by @javierriera_.

Javier Riera’s work is based on projections of light and geometry with a concept of intervention on the landscape’s time and space, which places him in a position close to the proposals of Land Art. Riera conceives geometry as a natural language prior to matter, capable of establishing a kind of resonance with it.

Plants as system; time as material.

@petreske is a sculptor making kinetic and mechanical art sculptures. For this project, Petri Eskelinen constructs a physical maze, letting nature do the rest.

Filmed over six months, the work tracks stems navigating narrow passages—some racing upward, some stalled, some blocking light and space until conditions shift—capturing these micro-struggles as a slow choreography of access, obstruction, and persistence. The labyrinth sets parameters; growth performs the computation.

The piece reads like a living model of network dynamics: limited bandwidth, territorial expansion, temporary monopolies, and eventual rerouting. No CGI, no simulation—just time-lapse as a lens on emergent behavior.

The Secret Life of Flowers by @julieta.tarraubella.

“Tarraubella composes transmedia narratives and audiovisual fictions—cyborg assemblages of images, scopic regimes, temporalities, and spectral figurations… The slow and almost imperceptible stillness of the flowers introduces a temporality that runs counter to acceleration and presentism—dimensions that shape the management of time and the configuration of subjectivities in the globalized neoliberal world.”

We thought you could use a bit of stillness, nature, and a counter to everything else that’s going on. 💜🩵 (Quote from Transmigrations of Images, Fantasy, Spectrographies, written by Fernando Davis about the project)

Follow 🌱🌱 @fleuron.tf 🌱🌱 for more works and theory at the overlap of technology, nature, activism, and reflection. 🔜 Announcements coming soon.

Recent shader mapping experiments from @mariodemeyer @mariodemeyer_motion. We love seeing what typographers do when they break away from the letterform, and this dance is def very, very, fun.

Make sure you’re following us… there’ll be announcements soon.

Every new project @pepepepebrick reveals just floors us again and again.

Shown above: a visual-audio system that captures a french fry arrangement to generate real-time visual and musical signals, an interactive system that reads characters from vscode and maps them to the lifecycle of a beetle, a system that performs real-time motion capture color recognition and area analysis on footage from a washing machine to generate interactive signals for music, a project where algorithms simulate the textures of nature and expand following the growth logic of seashells, and a music score based off of dried instant noodles.

Follow @fleuron.tf for more tech-art-hacking inspired by or interacitng with natural systems, and @inscript.tf for the typographic side of things.

The bird migration edit, featuring the work of @ade3 (slide 1 and 5), @myyyraa (slide 2, 4, and 7), and @robfarmerxyz (slide 3 and 6).

@fleuron.tf is all about experimentation and research at the overlap of tech, the art-design realm, and nature. And whatever conversations or inspirations may arise out of it all.

Currently reading “Latent Spacecraft: Brains, GANs, Finnegans” by @begus.nina, @metahaven, and @begusgasper, with @metahaven and @richipetrini, from @antikythera_xyz.

The project argues that latent space—the learned, multidimensional, representational substrate of neural networks—is not only a mathematical construct but, read through literature, a structure akin to architectural interiority that renders the abstract physically legible. The authors stage three case studies to trace deep homologies between biological and synthetic language: (1) speech-producing brains alongside speech-generating GANs, which learn by informative imitation and exhibit imagitation, which exceeds mere replication; (2) James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake as a cartography of latent space, where nonce words and associative syntax model pre-narrative interiority; and (3) FinneGANs, a GAN trained on Finnegans Wake audio, whose outputs probe the limits of comprehensibility and pre-speech form. Across these isomorphs, the authors contend that language is a final, linearizing layer over a generative, precategorial interior.
