“Michael Chaney is a soulful singer-songwriter blending raw storytelling with powerful melodies. His new album “Dopamine” explores the emotional highs and lows that keep us chasing the feeling music gives us.”
“Anna Mertson is a singer/songwriter from Westfield, NC - a tiny community in the foothills of the mountains. She performs full time, but her heart belongs to the craft of songwriting and storytelling by using experiences and visuals to guide the pen. She sits in a world where folk and country music hold hands, but chooses to allow genre boundaries to be pushed to ensure authenticity to the song and herself.”

Sam Tayloe Through his full band vehicle, Time Sawyer, Sam Tayloe is interested in “real people and real songs” and that’s just what the listener finds in his music – a sense of realness. Blending a grassroots feel with heart-felt lyrics, Tayloe pulls the listener in with introspective ballads that land in that rootsy sweet spot where folk, alt-country, and rock gather for a good time.
Kray Van Kirk is a gifted songwriter whose allegorical weave of contemporary and mythological themes is both remarkable and tremendously relevant. He backs that up with deft guitar work and a voice that embodies power and genuine tenderness. A steller and meticulous musician, equally rooted in the mind and the heart.”
Abigail Dowd
Our fearless host who still enjoys music most when it’s embedded in real life, sitting around a fire or every third Tuesday night at the Flat Iron. Each month Abigail invites musician friends to fall into space with her and the audience for what she describes as an evening in her adopted living room. They collaborate, share new songs, play old favorites, make things up, make you cry, make you laugh and most of all make you glad you came

The link to make your donation purchase is in the bio. Because it takes a village, right?
I had someone that donated to this campaign thank me for doing this… my response was that “This is what I’m SUPPOSED to do. I’m in a position to help with what I do as a screen printer, so I’m helping.” And it’s as easy as that. I don’t need thanks, I don’t need acclaim… I just need you all to purchase this shirt and help make sure one of the most important pieces of our art & music scene in Greensboro stays in operation. Money is hard to come by and hold on to these days, so it’s you all that have donated that are doing the heavy lifting. What I’m doing is the easy part.

Eric Johanson stands at the forefront of modern blues with a sound that fuses deep groove, raw guitar fire, and a forward-leaning rock edge. His Ruf Records debut, The Deep and the Dirty, surged to #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts, marking a breakout moment that cemented Johanson as one of the genre’s most vital new voices. Leading a high-octane power trio, he performed in over 100 cities across 10 countries in 2024 alone. In 2025, Johanson followed with another Top 10 Billboard release (Live In Mississippi), extensive U.S. touring, and sold-out headline shows across Europe, while his reputation for electrifying live performances and word-of-mouth buzz continues to fuel rapid audience growth. From Grammy-nominated collaborations with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, to direct support for artists like The Record Company, Samantha Fish, Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne, and North Mississippi Allstars, Johanson’s work has earned growing recognition from peers and critics alike. With a new studio album slated for 2026, Johanson continues to push modern blues into bold, unfiltered territory

A Tribute to Dylan & Cash celebrates the legacy of two American giants. Created by Award-winning songwriter Rod Abernethy, recipient of 2019 Grand Prize winner of American Songwriter’s Bob Dylan Song Contest and David Burney, frontman of the acclaimed touring band Johnny Folsom 4. Together, they bring the lyrical genius and unmistakable voices of Dylan & Cash to life with unforge@able performances, rich storytelling and visuals. It’s a moving journey through the music, history, and the enduring friendship of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. Rod Abernethy is an authenFc southern folk troubadour, master acousFc guitarist, and award winning songwriter and composer for film, TV and video games. Rod’s awards include the Grand Prize winner of the 2021 InternaAonal AcousAc Music Awards. His album Normal Isn’t Normal Anymore received rave reviews from No Depression, American Highways and The Wall Street Journal and was in the Top 20 CD of 2021 at No. 11 on the Folk InternaAonal Folk Charts. David Burney’s lilFng southern baritone delivers Cash’s classic songs so well you may well wonder from Fme to Fme if Johnny himself is in the building. David has been the lead singer for Johnny Folsom 4 for over a decade and while nobody really sounds like Johnny Cash, nobody sounds more like Johnny Cash than Johnny Folsom 4. No Depression magazine says “For those of us unable to have seen Cash perform during his life, this is more than a treat. It’s a Ame machine. When it comes to honoring Johnny Cash, JF4 walks the line.”

Folksinger Jodi Jones is determined to boldly dream a better tomorrow in the wake of a broken and weary world. Deeply rooted in the musical traditions of her childhood home in the hills of Western Pennsylvania, her work is a poetic and unflinching account of the beauty and hardship of working class life in America. With defiant wit and innate musicality, she beautifies the bitter truths of our modern age into song as an act of love and solidarity. Art may not save us from our problems, but Jones believes it is crucial to surviving them with our humanity intact. With guitar, banjo, fiddle, and even dulcimer in hand, she seeks to alchemize pain into purpose and break old ground to plant new seeds of hope and change wherever she goes.

Jack was born in the New Jersey highlands, a unique cultural region whose “hill people” share as much in common with Appalachian communities in West Virginia as with cities like New York City and Philadelphia. He grew up listening to country artists like Johnny Cash, John Denver, and Gene Autry, alongside radio oldies and soul like Dion & the Belmonts, and The Spinners. His independently-produced, debut single “Haunted Man”, which is from the perspective of a mournful-yet-determined man to reflect on his past mistakes, captured the attention of young online country music audiences, in particular, young men.
