‘When I’m mixing, I tend to throw in curveballs every so often, i wouldnt put myself in a genre of DJ’ing. I just love putting songs together by reading the room’.

Inspired heavily by the current #uk club sounds mainly dubstep, grime, uk techno and 2 step breaks, we’re delighted to have him on Saturday @thegraftonmanchester .

[ER013] Kop-Z - Past and Future Coalescence

Past And Future Coalescence is an EP composed of tracks written between 2020 and 2021, a pivotal period in Kop-Z’s artistic evolution. The record captures a moment of transition, where familiar structures begin to fracture and new forms emerge, still driven by the same rhythmic core.
The opening lays down a heavy, inhabited pulse : Past And Future Coalescence and Styx move forward on incisive kicks and a taut groove, allowing a fragile light to seep through. A promise barely perceived, quickly swallowed.
Chaos disrupts the balance, pulling the listener into a jungle and drum & bass vortex, its intensity extended and reinforced by Kicks 2025, a raw and uncompromising pulse.
The remixes then shift the perspective. Qant deepens Chaos, increasing its weight and gravity. Flames Disperse slows time, dissolving Styx into a downtempo drift with dancehall undertones, leaving a final suspended echo.
An EP as a passage : where past and future overlap, without ever resolving.
