another 2024 milestone, a character building roadtrip into the durango mountains of mexico to find a rock garden at 10,000 ft in order to properly witness the total solar eclipse for nearly 5 minutes

we crammed 6 of us and our backpacking gear in a small SUV and put 25+ road hours round trip all while I was fighting severe food poisoning — 😅🫨

initially billed as a 40th bday celebration for me also qualified as a bachelorette party as I was married less than 2 weeks later

a primal event that has me thinking about how to get to the next eclipse
