Some ppl asked in the live chat during the streaming, why i’m not using headphones 🎧 to mix, well basically because I don’t need them to play live when the monitoring system is good, like in this case.

For everyone who asked how to usually play with the machines, it’s actually pretty straightforward: i like to work with independent patterns on each of the two units (@weareelektron Analog Rytm and @rolandsynthandaira TR8S), so every machine has its own pattern sounding at once, sync by MIDI to assure the clock is tight. By using patterns i can mix every single sound, mute, filter, change synth parameters etc and build the set completely live and unique every time. So no two equal sets per show!

Audio wisely, i connect audio out from the Analog Rytm to audio input in the Roland TR8S since i can control the input amount with a knob and also use some sidechain to avoid clashes on frequencies providing a nice output level, plus using some efx in the Roland.

All this path goes then to the RMX as to adding some reverse delays, extra filtering and some reverb stuff. Then go to one channel in the mixer, in this case an @allenandheath Xone92, giving some extra analog warm.

The rest is pure fun 🤩!!!!
