Stop “networking”. Or at least stop thinking of relationships as transactions.

The garden was brought to life by an incredible team and it was wonderful to spot the legendary @themontydon there too! And of course, a visit to the @highgrovegarden stand was an absolute joy, packed with customers eagerly exploring the incredible array of beautiful and sustainable products, with all profits donated to charities.

As a proud long-standing Trustee and Board Member of both The King’s Foundation and Highgrove, I am constantly moved by the passion, dedication and craftsmanship that goes into everything these organisations create. This year was no exception, the team delivered something truly exceptional. Bravi a tutti!

Last night I was thrilled and humbled to learn I am a recipient of the inaugural @sustainablemarketsinitiative Terra Carta & Astra Carta Award, given by His Majesty The King. The award “celebrates individuals whose vision, courage, and tangible delivery have set a new global standard for private-sector leadership in service of a sustainable future.”

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the CEOs of the Fashion Task Force I chair and our hard working teams, as well as to the SMI and CBA, for the dedication and support they have shown over the past five years since the Task Force was established.

It was quite a surprise to receive word of the award, as just hours before I chaired the SMI Fashion Task Force at Buckingham Palace with His Majesty, who kept the news a secret!

The morning began with a panel, “Giorgio Armani: A Case Study,” where I had the honour of moderating a conversation with Mr Giuseppe Marsocci, CEO of @giorgioarmani; Mr @palahi_marc, scientist and CEO of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance; and Claudio Rovere, entrepreneur and CEO of @holdingmoda_ .

The Task Force then showcased developments from our latest work, including scaling regenerative agriculture from pilot to product, to advancing Digital Product Passports from concept to rollout. The goal, as always, is to give consumers greater transparency from farm to closet.

Together we have achieved remarkable, innovative and measurable results, which demonstrate a path forward for the entire fashion industry. Fashion has always been a nexus of creativity and reinvention, and with collaboration and innovation, we can make sustainability the next great chapter in the evolution of luxury.

Geeks of Chic

Last night at @fondazionesozzani I watched Paving the Way – Franca’s Legacy, a beautiful documentary about my dear friend Franca Sozzani. I still remember with emotion going to her funeral in Portofino ten years ago.

It was moving to relive the projects we built together, especially those dedicated to supporting emerging designers from every nationality. Working with Franca, we shared the conviction that creativity has no borders and that fashion must be global, open, and inclusive. She was never only an inspiration: she was pure action!

The night before, I saw the documentary about Elserino Piol, the pioneer of venture capital in Italy who believed in me when I was 29 and invested in a young founder with nothing but an idea. As I recall in my book, after a short meeting he said, “Okay, I’ll give you 3 billion lira… but you have three months to get going.” That trust changed my life.

Maybe because someone believed in me, I have always felt it was my duty to give back and believe in young people. Franca and Elserino were two angels who helped me turn ideas into reality.

Thank you to @e_schmeidler for all the projects we did together and for the wonderful evening (and for giving me a seat of honor among the great names of fashion), to @saramaino_ for always championing young creatives, and to @carlasozzani, always one step ahead with her extraordinary sense of beauty.

And finally, gratitude for the Franca Sozzani Fund for Preventive Genomics, for @francescocarrozzini and @harvard for carrying forward this important commitment in her memory.

Last night at @fondazionesozzani I watched Paving the Way – Franca’s Legacy, a beautiful documentary about my dear friend Franca Sozzani. I still remember with emotion going to her funeral in Portofino ten years ago.

It was moving to relive the projects we built together, especially those dedicated to supporting emerging designers from every nationality. Working with Franca, we shared the conviction that creativity has no borders and that fashion must be global, open, and inclusive. She was never only an inspiration: she was pure action!

The night before, I saw the documentary about Elserino Piol, the pioneer of venture capital in Italy who believed in me when I was 29 and invested in a young founder with nothing but an idea. As I recall in my book, after a short meeting he said, “Okay, I’ll give you 3 billion lira… but you have three months to get going.” That trust changed my life.

Maybe because someone believed in me, I have always felt it was my duty to give back and believe in young people. Franca and Elserino were two angels who helped me turn ideas into reality.

Thank you to @e_schmeidler for all the projects we did together and for the wonderful evening (and for giving me a seat of honor among the great names of fashion), to @saramaino_ for always championing young creatives, and to @carlasozzani, always one step ahead with her extraordinary sense of beauty.
