Cheers and happy birthday to the one and only @fclund 🥃🎸

Here he is doing what he does best; ripping out a solo during a live performance of Demonic Depression.

Hope your day is as epic as your riffs 🤘

"Demonic Depression" has made it to the number 1 spot on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts, and is thereby the third song from the new album to make it to the top! 🤘🔥 This is the 13th @volbeat song to make it to the top of the Billboard charts 👊🔥🤘

Had the utmost pleasure of meeting one of my big heroes, the legendary Martin van Drunen (Pestilence, Hail of Bullets, @asphyxofficial Asphyx) while I was playing @slagtownslays with @templeofscorn. I brought the @asinhellmusic vinyl for Mr. van Drunen to check out, which he was very happy about 🤘What a great evening! 🔥

Stoked to receive the Kemper Profiler Player today from @kemperamps_official 🔥 Really looking forward to testing the new 2.0 profiles, which seem like awesome, even more authentic amp sims than the previous version. Excited to try dialing in tones for Volbeat, Asinhell, The Arcane Order and Temple of Scorn. This little dude can do it all but will most likely mainly be used in the home studio or at rehearsals. #kemper #volbeat

Going with one of the most underrated and unknown melodic death metal masterpieces for this #melodeathmonday - 1999’s As Night Conquers Day by Autumn Leaves.

This is an album that you sadly won’t find on any streaming services and good luck finding a physical copy, but is available on YouTube thankfully. These guys had two albums with the first being much more true death metal in feel, but As Night Conquers Day is up there with any Swedish melodeath offering from the 90’s, even though these gents are Danish!

Hard to pick where to start with this one as it has so many strengths, but as a guitarist, I’ll start there. Riffs and melodies are killer throughout with a ton of groove, well placed harmonies, and great pacing. To me this entire album strikes the balance of being just fast enough and just aggressive enough without being “let’s just play fast because that sounds heavy” if that makes sense. Each riff serves a purpose and there’s no filler anywhere. @fclund has a number of fantastic solos here also, with the instrumental/guitar solo track Resigning From Life being my favorite. Perfectly placed near the middle of the album, it’s such a tasteful and emotional song. Great phrasing and feel with some epic slow synth underneath. The guitar tone and production are also brilliant overall. Not surprising for a classic @hansen_jacob work. The guitars are very thick and nicely saturated with a lot of crunch. Drums are punchy and clear. Bass is nice and upfront with some very impactful basslines, which is not the norm for old melodeath.

Would also be doing a disservice if I didn’t mention Torsten Madsen on vocals. You will hear his talents on my EP and this album is literally the reason I hand picked him for this project. Incredible old school feel with screams that are the perfect balance of guttural/low and higher pitched. Great inflection and annunciation with a very raw and visceral feel. Screams that are held out longer you can really hear and feel the emotion. My personal definition of the perfect melodeath vocals and could not be a nicer human being!

Finally in my hands! Highly recommended for anyone into a Queen/Beatles/70's metal kind of thing. Got to know this album (Jellyfish - "Spilt Milk" from 1993) through my good friend @hansen_jacob back in the day, and happy to finally owning a vinyl version of this classic 🙏 🤩 #jellyfish #mayhem

What a great year 2025 has been! 🔥 70+ gigs scattered across North America and Europe, thousands of kilometers travelled in the air, by sea and on the road, sleepless nights in bus bunks and hotels, endless walks vinyl record hunting in various cities, metal legends met like @garyholt_official, @phildemmel, @jondette, @dave_ellefson and @brianslagel, but what fun and what a privilege it has been to travel the world with great friends and colleagues, and to play in front of such dedicated fans each and every night 🙌🔥🤘 Thanks so much to everyone that came to the shows and supported and sang along! 🙏

I am very much looking forward to 2026 with many more musical endeavors among other with my buddies in The Arcane Order and Temple of Scorn. Cheers to each and every one I met on the road in 2025, and I was you all the best in 2026 and a very happy and prosperous New Year 🎆🎉😎 See you all out there!

Cheers 🥂

The 2025 top 10 albums for me 🤘 It's been a very busy year, so I sadly didn't nearly get all the time I wanted and needed to dig deep into this years many great releases. The albums that seemed to make the biggest impression on me so far though were the albums from (L-R) Sanguisugabogg, Coroner, Evoken, Cryptopsy, Atomic Witch, Revocation, Malefic Throne, Thantifaxath, Glenn Hughes and Kryptan. I am looking forward to digging deeper into the 2025 releases during the holidays 🎄🙏🤘🔥
