Since January, teachers have been taking part in weekly training sessions where they explore the foundations of rapid prototyping and digital fabrication technologies: 2D and 3D design, 3D printing and scanning, electronics, programming, biomaterials, AI, machine fabrication, sensors, networks, and much more. But the most important part is not only learning new tools, but discovering how to bring these innovative practices into the classroom to transform the learning experience.
Now the second stage of the Challenges begins, where we will use everything we’ve learned to design integrated activities and apply them in the classroom. #DTecla #STEAM

Julia Leirado acompañará durante la residencia, junto a Raquel Buj, a las tres personas seleccionadas en el programa Territorios Productivos, Galicia.
Julia es diseñadora y experta en fabricación digital en Fab Lab Barcelona, graduada de Fab Academy 2017. Su práctica se centra en entender a fondo el funcionamiento de las máquinas para llevarlas a sus límites técnicos, materiales y de proceso, explorando cómo pueden utilizarse de formas no previstas para ampliar las posibilidades del diseño y la producción. Colabora en el Máster de Diseño de Futuros Emergentes y en el posgrado Fab Academy, donde acompaña a los estudiantes en la exploración de la tecnología y la fabricación de artefactos como herramientas de investigación y de diseño. Con un conocimiento profundo de los procesos de fabricación digital —desde la impresión 3D y el corte láser hasta la CNC, la electrónica básica y la programación— aporta una mirada crítica y práctica sobre lo que la tecnología puede y no puede hacer, conectando técnica, materiales y diseño en procesos de experimentación con sentido.
