Ebirac All Stars was new to me - the album is a collection of recordings of Chicago bandleader Carlos Ruiz’s bands. His Ebirac label was considered Chicago’s Fania or Tico, and the Chicago salsa sound is almost purely Puerto Rican, taking influence from centuries of music there. I recommend checking out the other releases from the label if you like the sound of this album !
