More to the point...are you coming to Glenmore House...on Sunday 21 June for a delicious, nourishing and heart-warming Winter Solstice Celebration?

Because fireside, we're going to have a lovely morning conversation with about-to-be published TENDER author @lucytweedcreative / @everynightoftheweek to get to the heart of cooking those slow winter warmers we all so love...the braises, stews and ragus into which Lucy has plunged her passion...documenting recipes for us to follow her lead. We'll also dip into her somewhat hectic, helter-shelter life...before she slips back into the kitchen to put the finishing touches to a cosy lunch based on #tender recipes in which we'll indulge at the long tables...

And then...in the early afternoon, a fireside chat with @grampians_goods_co founder Amanda Cochran...as we immerse in all things wool...from her famous blankets to fair isle knits (of which she's bringing a slew for you to view!) 😍 alongside her very own Grampian Goods Co story...how it started and the details that go into every hugely desirable collection she produces...

And more! For then with a cuppa, we'll enjoy dessert from #tender by Lucy, alongside book-signing, fair-isles and blankets with Amanda...and off you can go for a #wintergardenwander

All in all, we have a beautiful slow, gentle and nourishing winter's day planned...think lots of smiles and laughter, good food and friends. We're all so excited and we'd love you to join us amongst the last of the colourful leaves...and woodsmoke...

Romancing the solstice || We have planned a delightful day of leaf shuffling, pebble crunching, wool snuggling and stew savouring all fireside at the glorious @glenmorehouse.
Mickey is opening the gates to the garden so we can cosy up together and talk about my new book Tender, and all the comforting wonder of stew and its iterations.We will have a glass of @usher.tinkler while we fill our bellies and chat with Amanda @grampians_goods_co to hear about the craft behind her beautiful knits and blankets.
June 21 also happens to be the winter solstice, so what better way to lean into the lack of light than to hunker down in happiness with such generous company. The shortest day. The longest lunch.

Ughhhhh the love of my life is the grit and gory, the gorgeous and the glory.
If everything was sweet without some bitterness we’d be a sickly bore.
This week we (one of the kids) have hit a speed bump or maybe it’s the skids… something, we’ve hit something…arrived at a fork in the road, and you start looking for a spoon to paddle.
You can hear yourself parent. Are you reciting a script or are your beliefs being voiced. Are you being strong. Are you being good. Are you being the person you want to be when you grow up while they look at you as a grown up.
Where are my grown ups.
Am I making a mess of my own little recipe.
Parenting people is such a wonderfully complex and terrifying experience.
There’s very little time to make the right move with a lifetime of consequences hanging in the balance.
Tomorrow will be surely be a new day so in the meantime…
Dinner, I guess.
This one… a no brainer easy pleaser.

Hands up who has more than one Mother’s Day breakfast with classroom tours inc P&C can’t say no stalls to attend tomorrow plus some post production to complete, a catering job to prep for Saturday, and 3 different sports to attend then a job to quote and a reel to finish for a collab, a pop up dinner to promote, a ghost buster outfit to prepare, a site visit to get to, an event to prep for and assembly to attend (AND WATCH!) then a 2 day shoot.
What day is it where am I what do I do again?!!!!!

Butterflied chicken roasted over a bubbling, spiced tomato situation is one of my all-time
favourite ways to cook. The sauce braises underneath while the skin gets deeply golden
on top. The whole tray smells absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. Then you
throw together a quick little olive and herb salsa on the side and suddenly it’s a whole
thing.
For this one I used Ardmona Thick & Rich — it’s got tomato paste already built in so you
get that depth and body without any extra work. One tin, maximum flavour, very little
effort. Serve with a big dollop or yoghurt Parmesan mash to mop up every last bit of that sauce.
Non-negotiable.
Made with 100 percent Australian tomatoes. Support local. Great tasting. Perfect for

Recipe below (doubled for this reel!)
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sweet paprika
½ tsp ground cumin
½ tsp dried chilli flakes
½ tsp ground coriander
½ tsp dried oregano salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 whole chicken (about 1.5kg), butterflied (see Hints)
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 red capsicum, sliced into thin strips
1 yellow capsicum, sliced into thin strips
1 long red chilli, cut in half (optional)
1 brown onion, thinly sliced
1 x 400g tin Ardmona Thick & Rich Classic tomatoes (with tomato paste)
100ml dry white wine
100ml chicken stock
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp red wine vinegar crusty bread or fries, to serve

Simple salsa salad
1 handful black Spanish or kalamata pitted olives
1 tbsp capers, rinsed
1 tbsp roughly chopped fresh oregano
15g roughly chopped flat-leaf parsley leaves
juice and zest of ½ lemon
1 small garlic clove, crushed
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil salt

This one is for the people who think simple can’t be special. It can. It absolutely can. I first
had something like this at Harry
‘s Bar in Venice and it has lived rent-free in my head ever
since. Barely touched, just assembled with care - garlicky tomato baked until bubbling, a
beautiful piece of barramundi nestled in, pasta tossed through the whole glossy situation.
Done in 25 minutes. Feels like a million bucks.
Ardmona crushed tomatoes are doing the heavy lifting here. 100 percent Australian
tomatoes, sweet and bright, no fussing required. This is summer on a plate.
