ill be your friend 48 w/ Essets & Prance
Show of november online!
First time I wasn’t physical at the TNP studio but the two Ex-roomies really held it down. I both asked them something which was a bit out of their comfortzone but they did soo good! Lots of favs in the show❤️❤️

with a deep affection for house in all its expressive forms, essets blends soulful grooves, early 00s tech-house and deeper percussive layers into warm, flowing narratives. whether guiding the night through hypnotic club rhythms or easing listeners into introspection with ambient and downtempo, her selections speak through sensation. her sets invite connection ~ through ears, hearts or the subtle space between.

Tune In Zone Out 006 w/ Essets / @estheronstein 🌀 Very happy to share this show with a DJ way too humble for our scene. This set is just pure class, vibes and a pleasure for the ears in times where things can tend to sound loud, fast and screaming for attention. Funnily, the subtleness speaks volumes to me. As a mentor once shared with to me: Things don’t need to be loud to hit the spot. They need to be as intended to hit the spot. Somehow Essets seem to got that message as well. Please, enjoy and find the show on Soundcloud🌤️.

Tomorrow, Tune In Zone Out #006 with Essets (@estheronstein) at 4 PM on @rrfm.fm . Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make the show due to work obligations abroad, but I’m really happy that Essets will be taking over. She’s definitely one of the humblest DJs I know and has an incredibly tasteful selection. I always enjoy her introspective sounds—whether it’s wrapped in a dancefloor aesthetic or as listening music, it’s pure bliss for the ears ✨

Two very good friends and versatile dj’s, Essets & Tosh, will take care of the opening of the day with a 3,5 hour set at NAR Sunday 15 september.
They both have a wide music taste going from ambient to techno and both work at local radiostations in Amsterdam: Essets works at RRFM and Tosh at Radio TNP. They used to be neighbours in ACTA, an infamous studenthouse in Amsterdam, and spent uncountable hours on the dancefloor together. It’s been a while since they played b2b, so this will be the best occasion to bring them together and let them guide us through some sunday funday dancing activities 💕
They both joined the radioshow with two totally different sets, Essets (FKA toot sweet) with a more ambient show and Tosh (as funday b2b Vuur) with a more deeper house orientated set.
Ticketlink in bio (still few friendtickets left for €5 per person:))

last wednesday i did my first radioshow as a @rrfm.fm resident 🏡 i’ve started off my bimonthly show with an episode inspired by the region i’ve been spending a lot of time lately: the wondrous hills of house. deep house, tech house, percussive house, classic house, soulful house, progressive house… it’s just so fun to play house, and i loOoOoove the repetition, the layering, its minimalism or the bombasticness, the tension and patience, the never-ending beat, the at times ‘lompheid’ (clumsiness) of it (thanks @tosh____________ for describing it like that to me once), or the opposite with its sharpness and airiness, the lightness & fun of it, etc etc.
with some tracks or sets there’s so little happening you drift off for a bit, but underneath you’ll find a driving build-up and tension that catches you off-guard. it’s been secretly massaging your body while your thoughts were still running around, until that one tiny change in bass, or an additional chord or high-hat makes you shift your focus to the music again, forcing you to engage and actively listen what else is unfolding in the track or in the set. it’s so simple but it can be so satisfying
however, this specific show is actually quite eventful, with many of my go-to tracks, the ones i’ve been trying out during my opening sets in clubs recently, and some i haven’t had the chance to play anywhere yet. lots of bouncing and echoing sounds, a few slightly cringy YEAHs in an otherwise great track (heh), and an explicit content warning for the first track! it’s my first radioshow with just dance music, and it was about time. it’s not perfect, but it’s good enough
looking forward to dedicating my shows to come to whichever genres and styles have my interest at that moment. here’s to many shows to come, hope you enjoy, thank you for listening! (shoutout @alexinamsterdam )

last saturday i did a two hour show for Eiland Gasten Radio at @operator.radio and i feel like sharing what i did:
i started off with ambient (surprise!), and played some heartfelt shoegaze (as depicted). i briefly went to church with upsammy, and then used some lighter dnb to get out of there. then some dub & downtempo tracks that have been in my library for a long time – downtempo was my very first love in terms of mixing – and also some newer finds. at 75 minutes, via a ‘bpm-portal’ of trancy ambient , i went to deep house, teased with more dance music, then brought it back to dub and finished with ambient
hope you enjoy! i did :) you can find the full show on my soundcloud - tracklist in the description.
thank you @lenny.ren for the invitation, and my mascot in the corner @vuuur for the support
