Am letzten Mai-Wochenende widmen wir uns der Mezzotino Technik im Tiefdruck. Hier wird eine Kupferplatte durch ein Mezzotinto Wiegemesser schwarz strukturiert und anschließend Helligkeiten durch ein feines Modellierwerkzeug herausgearbeitet.

EN:On the last weekend in May, we’ll be focusing on the mezzotint technique in intaglio printing. This involves creating a black texture on a copper plate using a mezzotint chisel, and then bringing out the highlights with a fine modelling tool.

Wir laden euch ein zur Lesung von Silvio Colditz im Rahmen der Ausstellung GEFÄHRTEN! 

Seit Januar 2004 erscheint das Zündblättchen, eine Kunst- und Literaturzeitschrift im A6 Format, herausgegeben von der Edition Dreizeichen. Aus einer künstlerischen und einer literarischen Position entsteht in jeder Ausgabe ein Duo. Eines war in Ausgabe 116 Kerstin Franke-Gneuß und Silvio Colditz. 
Wir freuen uns also die beiden erneut, dieses Mal aber in nicht nur auf dem Papier sondern in unserer Werkstatt zusammen zubringen.

We invite you to a reading by Silvio Colditz as part of the GEFÄHRTEN exhibition! 

Since January 2004, *Zündblättchen*—an art and literature magazine in A6 format—has been published by Edition Dreizeichen. Each issue features a duo drawn from the worlds of art and literature. In issue 116, this was Kerstin Franke-Gneuß and Silvio Colditz. 
We are therefore delighted to bring the two of them together again, this time not just on paper but in our workshop.
When: 16 May 2026, 7 pm

Price: The reading is donation based!

Die Kaltnadelradierung ist ein grafisches Tiefdruckverfahren, eine Form der Radierung. Mit einer starken Nadel wird ohne Ätzung direkt in die Metallplatte geritzt. Je nach Druck können unterschiedliche Linienstärken erzeugt werden. Zu beiden Seiten der geritzten Linie stellt sich das verdrängte Material auf und bildet einen scharfen Grat.  In diesem feinen Grat bleibt innerhalb des  Druckprozesses neben der eigentlichen Linie zusätzlich Farbe haften. Dies ist das besondere Charakteristikum der Kaltnadelradierung und lohnt sich kennenzulernen.

EN:Drypoint is a form of intaglio printmaking, a type of etching. A sharp needle is used to scratch directly into the metal plate without the use of acid. Different line thicknesses can be produced depending on the pressure applied. On either side of the scratched line, the displaced material rises up to form a sharp ridge. During the printing process, ink adheres not only to the line itself but also to this fine ridge. This is the distinctive feature of drypoint etching and is well worth exploring.
→ The course takes place every Thursday from 28 May to 18 June, from 6 pm to 7.30 pm

En:The oldest printing technique shines with its clear shapes and blocks of colour. Just like a stamp, a wooden or linoleum plate is carved with a knife. It is precisely through this technique that colour can be rediscovered and a multitude of variations created. Join Käthe in April to discover the diversity of woodcut printing!

Am 17.04.26 startet ein ganz neues Format von Käthe in unserer Werkstatt mit dem Titel ‘da sein und erinnern’. Es geht um die erste Zeit mit einem Neugeborenen:
Die Zeit mit einem neuen Menschenkind ist besonders, einnehmend und übervoll.  
Das Erlebte festzuhalten gelingt oft nicht so, wie wir es uns vornehmen.  
Ein Buch für Gedanken zu deinem Kind,  eine Erinnerungsschachtel für den ersten Body und wichtige Rituale, eine Mappe für Briefe und Karten an dein Kind oder ein Fotoalbum für die erste Zeit - all das kann im Kurs möglich werden.  Und dann ist es eine Einladung auch mit Anderen in einer ähnlichen Lebenssituation diese verrückte Zeit zu teilen.  

→ Vom 17.04.- 19.06. werden insgesamt 7 Einheiten angeboten, die frei wählbar sind

On 17 April 2026, a brand new format from Käthe will start in our workshop entitled “Being there and remembering”. It’s about the early days with a newborn baby:
The time with a new human being is special, engaging and overwhelming.
Capturing the experience often doesn’t work out the way we intend it to.
A book for thoughts about your child, a memory box for the first bodysuit and important rituals, a folder for letters and cards to your child or a photo album for the early days – all this can be possible in the course. And then it is also an invitation to share this crazy time with others in a similar life situation.

→ From 17 April to 19 June, a total of seven units will be offered, which can be freely selected.
→ Participation fee from €45 per session, including material costs.
