‘AO’ Exhibition “Camino al Corazon” artist guided walk-through 3/6/26

The EPCC Gallery of Fine Arts at Transmountain RM 1307,invites you to view our new exhibition Camino al Corazon by visiting artist Eugenia ‘AO’ Carmona.

Join us for special artist talks onThursday, March 5, 2026 Noon to 1:00 p.m. Valle Verde Campus, AST Building, Room 243 and at TM March 6, 2026 4:30pm at TM RM 1307.

Eugenia ‘AO’ Carmona is an El Paso-based muralist and fine artist known for incorporating traditional, handcrafted elements and cultural storytelling into her work. Active across the US, she creates textured, vibrant pieces, with a dynamic visual aesthetic she refers to as Neo-Folk-Abstraction.

Camino al Corazón, Pathway to the Heart, is an exhibition that reflects upon the multiple dualities one may experience when journeying towards a greater truth. Some of these dualities appear as sorrow and joy, shadow and light, hope and despair, and estrangement and belonging. The underlying visual references featured in this exhibit speak to the observed combination of the natural/social landscapes and architecture of the Southwest and Southeast, as well as my Mexican-American background and its evolving Catholic-Indigenous spiritual hybridity.

Call for Submissions: 48th Annual Student Art Exhibition is Open! All EPCC Students can Apply for a chance to have their art featured at the EPCC Gallery of Fine Art this Spring 2025. This year’s juror is Juan de Dios Mora. Submission Deadline is March 13!

Faith Ringgold’s Black feminist poster, “Woman Free Yourself,” adapts in complementary colors (purple and green) the patterning of Kuba textiles from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ringgold presents a puzzle of words, WOMAN/FREE/YOUR/SELF, each contained within a triangle that individually resonates as a shout, and all together become a call to action.
