"As doctors, we do not ask who deserves care before treating a patient. We take an oath to protect life without discrimination. Today, we are here because 18 of our colleagues remain imprisoned without charge, without trial, and without justice, including two doctors who were murdered while in custody, whose bodies have yet to be returned.
Detaining doctors while Gaza’s health system is being destroyed is not only an attack on individuals; it is an attack on the right to health of an entire population. When doctors are detained for treating the injured, when hospitals become targets, and when doctors disappear into prisons without due process, the entire world should be outraged.
As healthcare workers, we cannot normalize this. We cannot stay silent while our colleagues are starved, abused, and disappeared for simply fulfilling their ethical duty to heal.
We demand the immediate release of the Gaza 18 and all detained healthcare workers, because healthcare workers are not targets. Healing is not a crime, and silence in moments like this is complicity."

Malcolm X March
5.19.26 | West 125th Street (Harlem, New York)
Yesterday marked Malcolm X's 101st Birthday. Malcolm X is a big name in the civil rights movement in the 1950sand 1960s up until his assassination in 1965. But he became on symbol of civil rights and continues to be an icon.
December 12th Movement, a New York City based Black human rights organization that was founded in 1986, planned a march around 125th Street, in the heart of Harlem. Shops around 125th Street closed their doors from 1pm to 4pm in solidarity for Malcolm X and while some stores closed their doors, other stores did not and it didn't sit well the group.
When speaking with some owners, they said that can't close the doors cause of higher management and others didn't want to close their doos cause it makes bi sense. When photographing the protest ,I noticed that some residents of Harlem looked annoyed , one told me that its a bit 'hypocrical' for the movement threatening to shut the stores down for them since Malcolm X wmas an advocate for peace and another owner said that the organization was making it about themselves.
At one point, a teenager was out from school and wanted to get some food so he went to an Auntie Annie's food truck, the movement was trying to boycott the truck by blocking peopke from buying, tve teenager was one of them and the protesters were angry at him and was surrounding him and calling him a 'disgrace'.
