yesterday i was very lucky to attend the morning preview of 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘰𝘱! a new exhibition curated by @tory_turk at @somersethouse 💗

where to begin… this show felt like it was made for me, from @connor.coulston ‘Everytime’ homage, to my dear @athenkardashian & @ninamhachdurban Marilyns, to a fridge by @molly__soda that felt like the perfect marrying of the conceptual and the accidental – the latter being a v interesting part of collecting/hoarding/amassing that I want to unpack in my own practice (& self) further.

I really enjoyed Somerset House’s previous exhibitions (esp. the Horror Show and the Cute, curated by @clairecatterall ) for their unabashed blend of so-called ‘high’ and ‘low’ culture that many other institutions shy away from. I appreciate 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘰𝘱! for its non-condescending examination of fan culture, and am excited to see what other projects Tory has up her sleeve !! more pop cultural x fine art marriages please – I can hear the wedding bells! 💒

thank you everyone for your love on 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 🩷

as part of the show’s finnisage @elleannac debuted her first public performance 𝘋𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳, musing on Britney, Trotsky and agency under capitalism. Who knew the Princess of Pop and a dead Russian revolutionary could have so much in common!

it also wouldn’t be a closing party (or exhibition wake) without a sweet treat. Let them eat cake! With many thanks to @uncuttablething for our bespoke concoction 🎂

📸 by the wonderful @hayleyjayarchive

𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 was co-curated by @elleannac and @gigisurel_ of @teaspoonprojects
The exhibition was hosted at @noritogallery from 3–22 April 2026.

Thank you to our artists and audiences for being a part of it 🩷

thank you to everyone who joined us for 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴: 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 🫗❤️‍🔥

upon the eve of 8 April, iconic girlies flocked to @noritogallery for a night in two acts:

Act 1 🎭 saw @lily_bunney_ debut her part-research project part-performance 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦. She read all of 𝘉𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘑𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘯. We asked her our questions.

Act 2 🎭 paired @elleannac with cohost of the impeccable @rehashpod - the wonderful @hannahmraine - for 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴. Together, the pair traced the use of Britney’s image and its many possible meanings, from the historical all the way up to the contemporary.

upon the eve of 8 April, iconic girlies flocked to @noritogallery for a night in two acts:

You are cordially invited to 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴: 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 🩷

On Wednesday 8 April, @noritogallery will be activated by the performative and the pop-cultural.

From 12–6 pm, the gallery will be occupied by participating artist @lily_bunney_ for her durational performance 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦 🎟️
Katie Price was propelled into the public eye at 18 when she was pictured topless in The Sun. A staple of British culture and reality TV, Price has gone on to release 8 (bestselling) autobiographies. Part research project, part performance, Lily Bunney plans on reading all 8 autobiographies.
For 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴: 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳, Bunney will start the reading, probably only getting through 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘑𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘯. She will be taking notes. If people want to come in and ask any questions, or share thoughts, the artist will be present.

From 6–8 pm, join participating artist and co-curator @elleannac in conversation with @hannahmraine – cohost of @rehashpod for 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 👛
Britney Spears is the American Dream: a potent and inspiring mythology that has unraveled over the course of the 21st century. Through conversation and an audience Q&A, Elleanna Chapman and Hannah Raine will investigate the power of Britney’s image and its subsequent exploitation.

𝓜𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓢𝔀𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 is open!

3–22 April
NORITO
1st Floor, 19B Beak Street
W1F 9RP, London

Featuring works by Lily Bunney, Elleanna Chapman, Dandy Day, Andy Holden, Laila Majid, and Moses Tan, 𝓜𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓢𝔀𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 explores the emotional whiplash of being a person who feels – and is seen feeling – where joy and dread blur, hope pulses through grief, and sweetness turns bitter. Across six distinct practices, the exhibition traces digital intensity, vulnerability, desire, shame, humour, and survival.

Curated by Elleanna Chapman and Gigi Surel – a collaborative exhibition between Teaspoon Projects and NORITO.

𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩, 2025
rhinestones, glue, acrylic paint, marker pen, plywood
12.5 by 12.5 centimetres

Late last year, I was invited by the most fabulous @meg.molloy_ to create a new work for @aoapprojects International Women’s Day auction which opened at @thebombfactoryartfoundation last week. Meg curated a dare I say iconic line up of working-class women artists for the occasion. I knew I wanted to make a work that was unabashedly feminine, but that still in some way acknowledged the socialist origins of International WORKING Women’s Day. This revolutionary context has been pretty much erased from discussions around the day, and I wanted to bring it to the fore in my own way.

Whilst of course rhinestones would be involved, a glitzy portrait of female Bolsheviks seemed a bit too… obvious? Even a bit reductive. Following the ~logic of El, I ended up considering a wider pool of working icons to bedazzle, landing, finally, on none other than the Princess of Pop herself.

𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩 is a portrait of the simultaneously maligned and beloved Britney Spears. I am beguiled by the legacy of Britney, the politics surrounding her personal life, career, and conservatorship, and am interested in how such a mega rich woman who worked tirelessly still ended up abused by the capitalist system and the greed it perpetuates. I wonder how Brit, a beloved diva from my childhood, may come to stand as a challenge to the profit-driven system of capitalism as a whole: a sort of imagined working-class hero, who rallies for revolutionary change via Juicy Couture, diamantés, and unabashed girlishness.

𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩 is available to bid on via Givergy and AOAP Projects for the next 24 hours, with all money raised going to @hepatitisctrust Thank you to Meg and the AOAP team for all their support, as well as to @rhinestonesonline for helping me to source a sparkly array of @crystalsbypreciosa crystals for this work 💖

One fateful winter’s day, Essex babe Elleanna Chapman joined Radge’s own Meg McWilliam in the apple of the North’s eye… the warm and wonderful Sambuca’s. Over the course of a parmo, the pair get down to business. What is this North–South divide really all about then, hey? After all, don’t we have more in common (they are both sporting Juicy Couture for starters…) than not? Is there a way to come to a position of solidarity?

Grappling with this age-old question, discussion unravels like a poorly pinned roller, and the world’s most glamorous North Eastern-Essex alliance is born.

You can now read the full RADGE/South Divide article in conversation with working class hero and multidisciplinary artist @elleannac in RADGE Magazine Issue 3! Link in bio 💋
