Great to partner with Eaton House on this Mug Library initiative to reduce single-use plastic.
Residents and members of Eaton House donated over 50 mugs (!) from home. Now they don’t have to remember to bring one and they can avoid the disposable plastic-lined “paper” cups. Less waste! More fun!
Huge thanks to Mekala for the great explanatory signage and to all the awesome residents and members who participated in the launch!
This week is DC Climate Week! — The first time that DC has been established as the nation’s center of climate innovation, with opportunities to engage with policymakers, fund climate solutions, and showcase cutting-edge technologies. A big deal for climate and sustainability efforts in Washington, DC. To celebrate the big moment, Eaton DC has partnered with one of our coworking member organizations, @rewild, to present a special immersive climate week installation, hosted on the first floor of our coworking space.
The activation features an interactive video installation (with headphones for participants to use) and quiz - all focusing on biodiversity and climate. Guests, members and program participants have the chance to win custom merchandise and sustainable prizes.
On top of it all, the installation art was created by 2024 Eaton House Resident Rose Jaffe (@rose_inks). Eaton DC facilitated the collaboration by introducing Rose and the installation designer - leading to this great work and a job for Rose.
The installation went up today and will be on display through Friday, before it is sent out for its next showing in Los Angelos. When you get a chance, be sure to stop by and check it out. Also take a look at the attached video of the installation, where you can see the timelapse of the install.
