one of the posters for @dont.interrupt.while.we.dance that I made using god knows what brain i don't know if I have an art style anymore some of the overlays are from protest pictures and some are randoms from my gallery lol
ANYWAYS mumbai screenings on 27th, 28th and 30th of this month!! show up to watch cool short films, artists and performers!!
What was passed is not protection, it is erasure. It denies identity, dignity, and the right to self define to countless trans lives who refuse to fit into narrow definitions.
This protest is not just resistance, it is a reminder that trans people have always existed beyond systems that try to contain them. Visibility is not granted by the state, it is claimed, asserted, and lived every single day.
The fight does not end here, it expands, it organizes, it refuses to disappear.
At 00:27 , an excerpt from a poem by @rishita.11.11 is being narrated.

WE WON’t BE ERASED 🏳️⚧️
As I joined the protest yesterday, I was extremely nervous because even though it has been 5+ years of coming out as a trans person, shifting from a small town in Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai, I never saw so many trans queer folx gather to raise voices. Definitely not as many numbers as pride march because somehow it is easier to stand up when convenient and for joy than resistance. But pride started as a protest.
Our existence is the biggest protest this government is failing to see, forget about considering our voices and what we have all been screaming & sharing.
I walked out with a huge lump of grief in my throat but knowing that so many of us exist, makes it less scary.
I want to thank everyone who spoke out loud & proud because the baby queer in me felt so seen yesterday. Your voices are echoing in my heart. Thankyou 🏳️⚧️
We won’t ever go back x
P.S. please tag friends you know in the video and I have many videos of you all sharing your powerful words, DM me & I want to share them with you.
Love Love Love,
Siaan 🦄🏳️⚧️

We saw it coming. They passed the bill 💔
But the fight isn’t over yet.
Reach out to your friends, give them a little extra love if you can. This nation is regressing. Until i can find resources to help us I’m going to be supporting my sisters and brothers and non binary siblings by buying from their businesses.
Share some businesses you know run by folx of trans experience 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈

Celebrating Trans Excellence while erasing Trans Existence
Don’t Interrupt While We Dance has been selected for the International Film Festival of Delhi and will be screening at PVR Jasola Vihar, New Delhi on the 29th of March, at 11am.
This is bewildering, as the same government that has selected and platformed this film at IFFD has also introduced the Trans Bill 2026, which was passed by the Rajya Sabha today amidst wide protests by trans communities across the country.
This film quite literally belongs to the community, by being a community-funded project, made by a team of trans and queer people. This creates a stark and unsettling contradiction: on one hand, trans art is being celebrated on an institutional platform; on the other, trans lives are now jeopardized by the state and to be regulated, surveilled, and threatened through policy. This is a dissonance, on one hand, the power loves trans excellence, creativity, the spectacle, on the other it is literally passing bills to criminalize and erase trans existence.
We will not cede space. We are going ahead with this screening, because we will exist, on and off screen. As trans creators, artists and filmmakers, we are confused - are we only wanted in fictitious narratives while we are abandoned by institutions and the state in real life. We are perplexed.
Kya aap hume chahte hai ki nahi?
Kya aapne ye film dekhi bhi?
This film is and always will be for, by and of our community.
They are once again trying to interrupt our lives and our joys, but we will always continue to dance anyway.
